So I decided to exit. Years on end of decline, stupid layoffs, waiting for almost a breakdown to come up with any change. No corporate culture is great, but here it was fine compared to many other companies until it became horrible. I decided to go elsewhere, where I can do my thing in a bit more peace and quiet, and where people are actually passionate about what they do. Smaller companies have their advantages. Good luck to all of you. If you are as fed up as I am, go look for other options. They do exist.

You are so brave for telling this story
I bet your posted about this on LinkedIn and felt good when people told you congratulations you’re so brave what an icon for doing something normal
@1jtg+1uPJutFu Yes I know the ~talents~ that have been unemployed for 6 plus months now. But their talen has been mainly a-s kissing in Nike! They stayed too long at Nike for 10 to 15 years and were let go in December and still unemplpyed. I only spent 2 months seeking new jobs and I found a one with 50 percent more salary and I reaigned...
Well....bye.
All this started with the 2017 reorg.
@1ffq+1uPJutFu It’s great you found a job but I know PLENTY (20+) talented people laid off in various rounds since last December who are still looking, in financial strain, may have to sell their homes, etc. sure there are good things outside of Nike, but there are also a lot of not so good things and some of the great ones are hard to find.
don’t sugar coat and make it sound so easy
Got laid off in February. Best thing to happen to me. I got a job with a promotion and a raise. Work from home. Best part about it: no backstabbing, no everyone looking for their next promotion, no territorial emails saying “how dare you do xxxx” I feel so much less stressed out. Nikes toxic culture will always be there because of who the company attracts: former type A athletes looking for their next career move. Don’t be afraid of life outside Nike. It really can be better.
It’s not worth sacrificing your mental health, time, effort, talent only to be thrown out like yesterday’s garbage. Only upside is the resume - take that and build with those who appreciate you! No place is perfect though, but toxicity is he-l for the living - ask anyone in NSRL by the fearless leader MN
I did the same thing very recently and oh boy I LOVE this new life and career outside of Nike! I had zero agenda for my days at Nike! Resigned and it was the best decision ever!
@gjo+1uPJutFu Jesus Christ, who hurt you…?
Why do you think people gather on this board and share their thoughts and feelings?
People are motivated to read and post content on here as a means to connect with others who are facing similar challenges.
Why do you bother coming to this site…?
Don't let the door hit ya on the way out! Why the fu-k do people think we care that they are quitting? You are not that special of a human being.
Takes courage to leave. Good on you.
Well done on leaving this toxic place……..I’m jealous!
