Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Post your D3 picket line cook-out menu for the day here:

Someone brought biscuits this morning. For lunch, we are grilling wings, hamburgers, hotdogs with BBQ beans and other sides. Very good, compliments to the cooks! Ice cold refreshments, ahhh! In the afternoon, the CP managers return at about 2:30pm, it’s like a cartoon, can see them gawking, sniffing and licking their lips.

Feels like the old Southern Bell/Bellsouth days when we the company provided and managers or techs grilled out for various reasons, was like family. Days of old, look where the company is now. Just a paycheck and everyone is a number on a spreadsheet, told if we don’t like it, quit. They sure know how to empower, create collaborative culture and keep employees morale up.

Why are so many from the same locations crossing the line? Are some locations better work environments better than others?

I have an idea since sycophant bothers his sensitive feelings. Renewed the word of the day, it’s now Su-kophants maybe that will give him some variety.

It’s the weekend coming up, might only see 1 striker at each location until Monday. Family time and R&R till next week. It was my scheduled weekend, loving the time off. Woohoo!

“FTLOG...please renew your subscription to Word of the Day because you've overused sycophant”

Sorry but it’s the best definition for company butt kissers, not changing. The only thing incorrect is “great men”. The last 3 CEO’s have been “great failures”

Sycophant: A base parasite; a mean or servile flatterer; especially, a flatterer of princes and great men.

FTLOG...please renew your subscription to Word of the Day because you've overused sycophant. Using the same 'big' word all the time doesn't make you look smart; it just makes you look like you have a limited vocabulary. And quit using superfluous commas!

Bringing an iced down watermelon for tomorrow’s picket line, it’s good on a hot summer day. Cheeseburgers and chips for lunch.

Always gonna be haters and trolls on here. They used to say we wouldn’t strike but now that it’s happened the sycophants quickly changed to other tactics. If we only had one striker there for the day that’s ok, it’s not a 24/7 job, it’s about Unity, not crossing the line and staying out on strike until, the company bargains in good faith. We are in it, to win it!

Keep working your CP assignment, you know Stankey appreciates it and is gonna reward you for all the extra work. He might even allow you to RTO within 30 miles of your home.

D3: We should pay less for healthcare, because we don't cost as much.

Also D3: We had burgers, and nitrate dogs, and sausage, and chips, sodas, and cookies, and pizzas, and fried chicken fingers.

My favorite was personally the one who stood out there smoking. If you want to pay less for healthcare...stop smoking. It will save you the additional premium charge and probably prolong your life.

A picket site doesn’t require every member out there every day

Two...our site had 2...all day long. Whew! I can feel the power and unity from here.

A picket site doesn’t require every member out there every day, nor do they have to march around in a silly line all day, it’s a picket line not a marching line. The main thing is informing the public, not crossing the line and watching for scabs. There is a weekly minimum of hours each member has to attain for strike pay, anything else is extra and shows Unity. People also follow and video managers to show the incompetence from their poor training, to show the company how much they need us before someone gets hurt or they damage the plant worse. Not every site has grills but main thing is to stay strong, in Unity. Not a problem, nobody has crossed in our local.

“Weird. Our sites are down to about 10% of the strikers that were there earlier this week. No grilling; most just sitting under a tent. Not even waving, picketing, and marching.”

“ The smart money has been in index funds the last few years. 😎”

That’s a long term play, we are talking about readily accessible liquid assets which would be CD’s, 🙄. I can withdraw money from a CD at a moments notice in case of an emergency. Use the ladder method so, one is always maturing, 😎

Any managers are welcome to come out, enjoy some food and take some pictures with us. Nah! On the other hand, Mr. Stankey would throw a pajama party on you, if he saw those pictures. We wouldn’t want that on our conscience.

Those were great days, whether it was for holidays, team building, or charity work. Plus, we kept the Network in better condition then too. Service was a higher priority. Post-merger we are just trying to remain afloat despite the decisions from Dallas.

Feels like the old Southern Bell/Bellsouth days when we the company provided and managers or techs grilled out for various reasons, was like family.

We can’t wait either, OT has been constrained for a while. Go ahead and force, we know what we are doing and double time will be awesome meanwhile, enjoying some downtime and 🏖️ 🍻 🥩.

“ Then you were the grasshopper and not like the ant who stores up for winter. Nice try troll but most have prepared for this, the company has created a pattern so, who wouldn’t put a little back? At AT&T, one never knows when a layoff is going to happen so, it’s prudent for all to have an emergency fund. It’s been happening monthly for a long time now.”

Oh, we are getting paid upon return. 3 paydays month and plenty of OT upon return. Not a shock to have company ULP issues this time since, same thin happened the last contract. Union needs to sue for back pay when contract is settled. Wagner Act 1935. Look it up.
