Do I have to report PSP to Oregon Unemployment?

I was let go and received part of my PSP today, and an email from People Solutions stating the amount for Q4 will be paid next week. Does this affect my eligibility to get weekly claim from unemployment? Do I have to report the bonuses from previous employer?

I checked with the State of Oregon (WorkSource) in the special seminar they held for the Nike Layoff and they said no the PSP didn’t impact unemployment benefits because it wasn’t for work performed that week.

I filled out my weekly unemployment form today and it only asked if I received vacation or holiday pay this week. I answered no because PSP is neither of those. I think it’s all good.

You do not have to. A laid off employee technically is not entitled to PSP or anything. The company decides to award you the PSP and PTO and other things as your severance. Severance does not have anything with unemployment. You are unemployed and you qualify for unemployment. End of story. You may call your severance package anything you want but that has nothing to do with your unemployment. The only thing that affects it is if you start earning from another job.

Yes. You have to report a bonus. Severance and holiday pay, no. Bonus, yes. You still file and report it in the week it is incurred. Bonus is not severance. It should extend the unemployment payments to the end; we get 26 weeks UI pay within 52 weeks. So this will make 27 and 28.

The answer is no because it is just a delay in payment and the while PSP is part of your severance package. Receiving severance does not disqualify you from unemployment. Now the company may pay severance in one payment or multiple payment and that still does not disqualify you from unemployment

That's a really good question... I would lean towards no-- since our severance didn't affect our unemployment eligibility, but I don't know for sure.

I do not know the answer to your question but I would not worry much! The tiny amount of unemployment benefit you may be double dipping along with your PSP is NOTHING compared to the huge tax we pay to get spent in Ukraine and other foreign countries and NOTHING compared to the huge money JD and other con artists stole from the system every day. Go easy on yourself.
