It is not the agile problem. It is the offshore teams who can't complete the tasks on time. In my 5 years of experience at wf, I have never seen so much incompetence.

Let's face it, the reason agile is failing is because the offshore team is not doing their job. They can't. They are culturally incompatible.

@1nez+1tLWkBtj, many large companies are successfully executing agile. Have you heard of scaled agile?

@1xxf+1tLWkBtj, wrong again. Lean is part of Lean Agile, you fool.

“Face it , the culture does not support agile. The managers and executives don’t understand agile, the processes of other areas do not support agile,” and other similar comments are funny. Look around at other large companies that existed prior to agile. You will see failures across the board. Agile has issues at large firms in general. They are many. Sure, there are some success stories but agile in general is not successful at larger firms (that weren’t formed on agile).

Lean and Scrum are all part of Agile, you fool.

Scrum is a part of Agile but Lean is a process improvement methodology.

One more thing. Good luck trying to figure out wtf any given project is doing with all the requirements and design elements scattered across a cr-p ton of epics, stories, tasks etc.

The problem is how we’ve done agile is pushing more work down to people doing the work and having so much stuff to fill out in jira. When we had typical PMs and project management the PMs did the vast majority of plan management. Developers and others aren’t going to fill out all the BS in a Nora ticket. It’s the opposite of being lean and efficient

At Wells, it should be called “Cumbersome”.

For the posters who keep blaming India for their woes. WF has been failing at Agile long before the push to offshore more. Face it , the culture does not support agile. The managers and executives don’t understand agile, the processes of other areas do not support agile, and frankly we( on shore) either don’t understand any of this or we are worried about job security .

I don’t blame India for Agile failing. I blame the directors and tech executives who blow up cycle planning with whatever hair up their ar-e idea that they want implemented immediately bypassing the “product owners” and the “product model” that they pat themselves on the back for implementing.

@rxr+1tLWkBtj, LeSS / Lean and Scrum are all part of Agile, you fool.

The offshore teams are to be blamed for the failure of agile. Almost all problems come from the lazy incompetent offshore teams. 😠

One of the major reasons WF cannot do a real agile is because the offshore developers refused to join the US meetings due to the time zone difference. If the India teams work their night shift, or even better, if all tech jobs come back to the US, the process should dramatically improve. But as long as the offshore developers refuse to come to the US time meetings, it is absolutely impossible to do agile here.

I will remind you again, what you see at Wells Fargo is NOT Agile. This bank pretends that they are doing Agile with Jira, but it's just name only, they are actually doing an Iterative-Waterfall. They want to keep it that way because all projects can be under the direct control of toxic managers.

Agile at WF is really just Jira for micromanagement reporting. I’ve seen Jira boards where teams open stories for every stupid little thing they do like responding to emails just to inflate their numbers.

It's Wagile - Wells' b@stardized version of Agile. They aren't happy unless they reform every methodology and tool until it's completely ruined. Of course it's not working!

Any process not followed will fail. Wells Fargo is not following agile methodologies.

My guess is she'll continue on the same path as BNY is apparently migrating to agile in waves. She's known for rampant offshoring.

The company really needs to be employing LeSs/ Lean strategy vs scrumfall nonsense.
