Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Quit quit quit!

Resign from your jobs at Truist. Do not put a notice in. There are better companies out there with better pay and benefits. This place is a joke. Worst company I’ve ever worked at.

Unfortunately that’s just not possible for most people. Most of us are living paycheck to paycheck while having to basically pay to work at Truist. I make less now than my first year, and my last job. Actively looking but I’m trapped. I’m so depressed here.

Dan was clearly a lying pos. He said there were no plans to replace fte's with contractors in multiple town halls. The pieces OS left, bender, regner, aufderheide, fletcher, hudson, etc are all also lying pieces OS. When they say you are retained it's meaningless. You will be asked to train your replacements. You need to work within the system to damage the plan. Call in sick, don't answer questions, don't provide meaningful documentation, etc. If asked a question there's nothing wrong with saying you're not familiar with that or you simply don't know. You are gone any way and there's nothing you can do about it. In the end, they'll offer you a miserable contract with accenture and steal all your benefits anyway like the rest of us. Don't fall for it.

Yeah, I thought I would get a severance, but I was a high performer so I was lucky to be offered a position at Accenture! Left the company for a better position with nothing to show for it.

If you want the severance, start underperforming now or make it clear hints that you would not accept an Accenture role and save them a decision. If they are a good person this su-ks for them also. Too many former teammates had all the excuses about the pension, severance, or ageism. Brush the dust off that resume and interview now and get practice before you are desperate.

This reads like an HR department trying to get people to quit so they forfeit benefits.

Make them pay you to leave. Wait for the severance and just quiet quit until then. Stop working stop helping stop training your replacement.

  1. Resign in workday
  2. Email manager that you are resigning effective immediately and make a plan to turn in your laptop and badge
  3. Block everyone and everything Truist on LinkedIn.

You got this!
