Hey nerds! STOP SCHEDULING FRIDAY MEETINGS!
FRIDAY IS NOT A MEETING DAY! IT'S A WRAP THINGS UP DAY!
DON'T BE THAT GEEK!
IF YOU SCHEDULED A MEETING FOR TOMORROW, DO THE RIGHT THING AND RESCHEDULE IT. YOU'LL SUFFER BAD KARMA OTHERWISE.

@3xox+1t8LsPw7 posted his comment around noon IST, that's when the India teams start logging into their computer. @3xox+1t8LsPw7 is definitely based in India. Probably they will post many more lazy comments while the US teams are asleep. But that's not gonna change our perception of the offshore team laziness. LOL
@3xox+1t8LsPw7, there is absolutely nothing reasonable about those lazy requests from Indian employees. Americans are hard working people who care about quality standards unlike lazy Indian employees. Now get lost.
Whats with all the downvoting for a reasonable request? WTH?
@2zpb+1t8LsPw7, thank you, your comments are wonderfully stated. Sounds like you have a great team. I am an operations manager and my team is also required to meet every Friday afternoon to close the week. I am blessed that my team members are all hardworking wonderful people whom I can count on, and I am very proud of them.
Those of us in Technolgy and supporting tier 1 apps are forced to install Friday evenings. OP would go insane having FRIDAY meetings 9 PM - SATURDAY 2 AM, e.g.
In my area:
3 & 4. The meeting organizer sends quick meeting minutes with agenda topics, discussion points, and assigned action items by EOD FRI or following MON. Everyone on meeting DL gets the minutes and knows what was discussed and what to do next, including people who could not join for any reason.
Often, people may also ping each other on the late FRI afternoon to quickly compare personal impressions, ramifications for operating rhythm or SOP, and sync up on next actionable steps.
I have been in many 6-7pm FRI Teams chats or calls to keep momentum going. People are “wasted” by that late time in work week, but they still are there for each other: to help out and get the job done.
I am proud of people I work with. I can count on them, and they can count on me. Any time. Including on late FRI evening.
@2dze+1t8LsPw7, that is the strangest logic I have ever heard. You should get fired for a preaching a toxic logic.
@2dze+1t8LsPw7, that is the most irresponsible comments you are making. Some jobs require to have meetings on Fridays. You obviously don't know how to plan business from managers' perspective. You definitely fit the lazy category.
@2dze+1t8LsPw7, you should be held accountable for not doing your required work which you are paid to do. Maybe that is the reason why you are still not a manager. LOL
Um… it’s not about laziness or not working…. It’s about efficiency and productivity! I absolutely am working a full day, every day, even Fridays. But answer this honestly… is your 3 or 4pm Friday meeting actually a good use of time? Or is the reality more like…
So, maybe instead of just calling people lazy you take some accountability and actually PLAN better… or maybe take that time management class on DevelopYou on a Friday afternoon. ;-)
OP, why don't you quit Wells Fargo and make room for other hardworking people? We don't need lazy employees like you.
Director here. Reading these posts by lazy employees really pi-s me off. We have a lot of work with tight deadlines each week. I will discuss this with other directors to consider Friday RTO mandatory for everyone. Feel free to leave, I can replace you with young employees out of college.
FRIDAY IS ALSO A MEETING DAY! You are expected to work 5 days a week! If you don't like it, leave! We don't need you.
Manager here. These useless employees who refuse to work on Fridays need to be on top of the next layoff list. WF has many more deadweight employees than I previously thought.
OP, I just don’t go. I say I have a conflict. Send me an email if you need an approval, etc. I also block out my Fridays, leaving 1 opening between 10:30 to 1. To all you jerx saying, wah, not a luxury, I call BS. Every time this has happened to me, I’ve asked how long have you been working on this or what was the hang up, etc.? Each time it’s some excuse about delays with another area or compliance. So, now I’m supposed to drop everything and have a Friday fire drill?? Ok, well my middle name is Karma and I’ll pleasantly oblige today but the next time you start IMing or send me a “rush” that isn’t formally a rush, things won’t be going your way.
Directors and executives regularly drop meetings on my calendar late Fridays, even after 5:00 PM. All problems at Wells Fargo start at the top.
How long is your typical work day? The nominal 8 hours? Or the more common 12+ hours?
Many, many people work longer hours, because it is required to cope with the workload and deliver on the commitments.
Having meeting-free Fridays is a luxury many cannot afford.
I know right - I need to stress the bad karma aspect in literal terms so that everybody understands. It's not just like an expression, but literally if you schedule meetings on Friday you will acquire karma according to your intent, this will potentially perpetuate the cycle of rebirth, or samsara.
Yes m-f are working days. I'm not saying don't work on Fridays, I'm saying the opposite. Have your meetings m-th and then do actual work on Fridays.
You're paid to work M-F.
Why? Keeps you from pretending to work from home? Started your weekend early?
Does poor baby have to reschedule her mani-pedi?
And calendars are packed full M-Th
I have 4 hours of meetings today. Two times I am triple booked on meetings within the same windows.
The former head of Auto also strongly encouraged avoiding Friday meetings in a town hall a few years ago.
It seems some of Wells gets the picture on this. Other departments need to catch up.
Life is short. We're not saving lives. With extremely few exceptions, meetings can wait a couple days. Deadline are arbitrary.
Riiiiight. Now if you could jump on a call with me at 4pm for an urgent deliverable due today, that would be great. Oh but enjoy your weekend of course, get some rest!
Saul told this to TEC in one of his town halls a few years ago when he was top dog…
Same goes to you early Monday morning schedulers!!! After 9am please, no one wants to talk to you before they've had their coffee and checked their emails 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you OP for some brevity today and Happy Friday!
It could be worse and you could have a manager who sends you teams chats after 3 on Fridays.
Thanks for the tip.
Friday meetings are cutting into my "me" time.
Invite sent for 3:30 to discuss this topic.
You are a freakin idi0t. Learn how to manage your time.
You must be in one of the "bloated" departments. Some of us don't have that luxury. JS... you won't find much sympathy here these days.
Tell my a-hole manager!! SF are you listening?
Tell it to the concierge.
