Looks like there has been a few today. I'm craft and I don't like it, but here we are. To those that complain about "Union Slugs, goofs". Go Phu>k yourself. Enjoy unemployment. When I see you tapping on my car window at an intersection asking for a dollar, I'll just wave.

Unless you have an AVP or higher title, you're expendable. T want's to contract out local market jobs to contractors. If your job can be done over a VPN, it's going to India. If you're not in, or connected to the C-suite, or manage work flow from T to its contractors start looking for a job.

T only knows 1 way of doing business, cutting overhead to improve revenue. Arguing amongst job titles pointless.

It is not hard for a Union "slug" to put away 15%. You would surprised what that grows into after 30 years. "Managers" try to disparage those who are not inclined to loose our pension by taking a "management" job.

“ I'm looking for a 10-15 year old Airstream”

I think you meant to say I’m looking to live in a 10-15 year old Airstream, Union slug.

No. New Airstreams cost upwards of 130K. I'm lookin for a 10-15 year old model. Airstreams hold their value so my budget is 60k-80k for a used one. I plan to let the kids have the house (paid for) and the wife and I will do some traveling while we are able. We are in our early 50's. Life is good for this Union Slug when you plan ahead.

Dec 10, 2019 — AT&T's John Stankey: 'No place is safe' from company-wide cost cuts!

If this is in-fact true, then why are we still hiring technicians in out of region areas of the country? I’m guessing not all business segments will be impacted, so no, the cost cuts are definitely not company wide! They’re picking and choosing which business units are more worthless than others.

Manager or Craft not right making fun of somebody losing their livelihood. They may have a family. They may be the only breadwinner just think about if that happens to you how it would affect you maybe use some common sense before making stupid comments on both sides management & Craft

Non bargained "managers" like to disparage Craft. They take cheap shots like "get your GED" .
They can not run fast enough from the AT&T broom that is going to sweep them away. They run, they cry, they try to disparage other in hopes that it buys them time. None of this works for them. We know what is going to happen. They will soon be forced to embrace what is going to happen. Don't fight it, let it happen, It's easier this way...

Union slugs have the leverage of a substitute teacher on the last day of school.

Non bargained have the leverage of, please, please don't make me come back to the office. Please, please don't discover my job is redundant. Please, please don't find out my job can be done in India for 10 cents on the dollar.

  • You go with the cheap "Get your GED" insult. It won't save you. AT&T is going to tidy up, and clean up so much trash. Post your toys on Facebook market place so we can buy them after you are fired. You will need the the money to make your mortgage payment.

I'm looking for a 10-15 year old Airstream. Hit me up if you have one that you can't afford anymore. This Union slug will make you a deal.

Union hasn’t had any bite since 2002. Y’all think weakening of manager numbers will help your value, but low level managers are the only ones that championed you the last two decades. I’m happy to be cut loose with a 6 month check. Swim on your own now union guys. You can’t hitch your wagon to India or Israel. You will be ruled by them. 😉

Bye bye!

Nothing funny about layoffs. I have worked in craft and management.
Both management and non-management jobs are essential to business operations.

It won't be a laughing matter when it happens to you or one of your family members.

Non-union contractors dug the hole, installed the fiber, wired into my house, connected to my home network, and it runs great. Did the same for 300 houses in my neighborhood.
