Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Workforce Share Program

Workforce share is not available for employees who have already received a displacement package....so how do "they" identify people to participate in the program?

Recently got moved to EBCE even though I work at a “core” site. Supposedly this has nothing to do with being identified for layoffs, but the whole experience so far makes me feel like they are setting me up for failure. To make the situation worse, the position I was “temporarily redeployed” to I know absolutely nothing about and training has been all over the place…other peers who were voluntold are experiencing the same. On top of all that, this new assignment has a much higher compensation grade than my previous role, but they are not increasing my pay or considering me for a bonus, stipend, etc. They decided to reward me (sarcasm) by switching me from hourly to salary, which means if I have to do overtime (which I hear is coming), I will not get paid for it. And Knowing how WF always does their employees wrong, when my temporary assignment is up, they will probably say I cannot go back to my old position and will now give me an increase for this new role…it’s their workaround for not having to give annual merit increases…oh, we can’t give you a raise and a pay increase for this higher position. The icing on the cake is for my annual review, I will probably not be able to get rated as an exceeds or consistently exceeds as I am in this new role and will at most be considered “developing.” Another way to creatively sc--w employees out of a raise.

A bunch of people from IT&V were sent to EBCE via the workshare program. They were notified and moved the next day. I think they were told it ends in December. All the people in it are remote (not near a hub) or in an office location that’s not a hub for risk. Their next stop will likely be to be laid off.

It wasn’t really an option - people were enlisted. It had nothing to do with layoffs. I won’t comment on why they did it - if you know what happened with phase 1 RCSA then you’ll know.

Are only CSBB employees being given this option? I never heard of this.

You are not guaranteed a job with Workforce Share. As an employee, you will be moved to a different position most likely a new job title. If you refuse the new position you will be terminated. The new position can last up to 18 months and once the Workforce Share time period ends you will either be terminated or retained as an employee.

Companies do this to avoid layoffs and to use you to fill duties in other departments. This way they don't have to hire new people in the departments that need the help.

SVB said we would all have a job guaranteed when it was over. I don’t why people think it’s a path to a layoff. That’s the most convoluted way ever to lay a person off. They would just lay an employee off if that’s what they wanted to do. Makes no sense.

What out if you are moved to a workforce share program. It’s a unique way to position people for layoffs. Bottom line the program ends. And the end date can move closer.

In CSBB they asked OC3 leaders to ask their DRs for names. Then folks were voluntold - this was for RCSA phase 2
