Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Barnhart - Oregon

Who all is being forced to different seating and different schedules since they laid off a bunch of managers last Tuesday? Anyone know if we’re all just going to be on the same in-office schedule now?
Also anyone think it’s odd that they suddenly have to remove the smoking area on the south side? The school has been there for years so it seems like a fake reason. Is it the only time they could get someone to take it before closing or was that the spot most people would talk openly about the mess that is leadership right now?

Feels like they’re deciding who they want in-office when layoffs start

@nmv+1smGk2LA I'm praying we get to keep our jobs through the end of 2025. One can dream. I know most people are ready for this and maybe even looking forward to be displaced, but I really don't want to lose my job. Barnhart is definitely looking emptier every day.

The point is to get rid of people, not throw them a lifeline. Anyone that relocates for this reason will get termed for the next made up excuse / PR spin. They know the vast majority won't relo, not in this company morale / interest rate environment, but there's plan in place for anyone that does.

More and more divisions are announcing 'team sites'. If you are in the LOB you will be required to live/work in one of the team site cities. Naturally it will fall to the major sites: Charlotte, Minneapolis, Des Moines/West Des Moines, Phoenix/Chandler, San Francisco, Dallas/Ft Worth, and NYC. Just depends on what cities your LOB thinks it needs to have a presence. Employees are being told they must be in the target city/cities by a certain date or they will be terminated.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the site closed by mid summer. It’s been in the works for a while now….

Expect there to be some intentional torment over the next few months. Hudson Yards desperately wants at least a small % of people in Barnhart to quit without severance. Look for your next gig and laugh off the stupid stuff. You deserve your severance, no need walk away from it considering how soon it's coming. I doubt there will be any WF employees in Barnhart by Q4.

I have hear rumors for a while that Barnhart would close shortly after June 2024. I don't usually believe rumors, but all of the Barnhart related rumors I've hear the last year or so have all turned out to be true.

If I've learned anything from this week's layoffs it's that we likely won't know for sure until the last moment what they have planned. I knew several of the folks laid off, some I had worked with in the past. I just have a gut feeling we won't make it to Q1 2025
