What CEO tells their company that it would be doing better if it didn't have to pay benefits and bonuses? Stankey, news flash: Without incentives to work at this company, there would be no employees to do the actual work.

To me his answer to outage question was vague and lame. He blamed the CIO and said something about he used to be a CIO… he also said it could happen again which is not comforting to hear as a customer, employee and shareholder. I mean WTF?!
F@&en boomer needs to go! He is toxic to this company!! His new strategy is literally from 2000…. Bundles!!!!! Call it what it is!
Boot lickers are all excited about bundles! 🥸🤡
Yeah, why are you complaining so much when you are paid so well?
This CEO dude is paid too much and we get so little good strategy out of him. He's destroying the company: as chief strategist he bought DTV and WarnerMedia for more than they were worth and then as CEO sold them at a huge loss. This is not to mention the big loss on the failed T-Mobile deal that he handles as chief strategist. He obviously didn't learn much in his MBA program at UCLA besides being obnoxious.
He did not say that on the Earnings Call. I just listened to every minute of it.
I never got paid out in bones.
"Thank you for posting the full quote. It’s unbelievable how many internal Karens are around who continuously distort the truth!"
Actually, the full and factual quote was not much better than what was "taken out of context". A competent CEO would not have made such a comment. It was not funny, and given the climate that we all live in, it was definitely not humorous. Instead of blaming those pesky employees and their bonuses, perhaps he should look in the mirror.
Only a true narcissist would say that. Which he is.
other than the princess phones and ready access cable, management bonuses has pretty much ki-led this company or any company for that matter.
“So many workers are so unappreciative of the pay and benefits they get.”
Eepecially given the outdated and limited skills so many many have.
“Those tossing around the “SDS” accusations are hardcore backs1de sm00ching toadies. You sycophants worship at the alter of your favorite megalomaniac…Juan Skunkey.”
That SDS term is just funny.
I hate Stankey and think he should step down, but I have a sense of humor.
You Union boomers need to lighten up.
Lay off the Wild Turkey and one hour energy.
For the id--ts citing the earnings call. This was the earning call recap town hall at 2pm Eastern on 4/24/24...
Sure, the quote may be a paraphrase or a tongue-in-cheek joke, but its tone is deaf to the majority of the company.
Stankey Derangement Syndrome
Is my new username.
It’s my new persona.
I am adopting and embracing the SDS.
This thread has a lot of text and posts with bs in it but really only one actually matters:
“stankey derangement syndrome”
- Yonk
Yeah I’ll be taking that one and saving it for later.
Gee, he could really save a lot of money if he could just quit paying people wages/salaries!!!! What a mo--n
And how much could they save if they stopped paying C Suite bonuses and perks…and THEIR salaries, and retirement

The statements on 'Bonuses' were not found when doing a search on those terms as reported above. Perhaps those comments were made in another meeting?
The company would be doing a lot better if we payed the CEO based on performance. x10 max of what a top performer employee
Did he address all the fit throwing, tears shedding, cry baby managers not wanting to work from the office?
So many workers are so unappreciative of the pay and benefits they get.
Thank you for posting the full quote. It’s unbelievable how many internal Karens are around who continuously distort the truth!
the quote in the title of this thread is fabricated. The actual quote, with full context is :
"cash compared to last year at this time, we're not having a conversation about cash generation in the first quarter.
in fact, i dont know, probably, going back several years, this is probably the strongest; the first quarter is usaually weak cash quarter to begin with because we pay you such large bonuses every year (people on stage chuckle) that there is never anything left for the investor after we pay everybody their compensation, and process all those handsets and the holidays.
but cash is really strong"
for those who cant read a paragraph. He was saying the company has stronger fundamentals year over year. But the cash flow in Q1 takes a hit due to the bonuses (as it does in q1 every year).
This is the second earnings call in a row where he has said such.
the "bonuses affecting the bottom line" comment is supposed to be a joke.
but stankey doesn't really know how to be a human. so his jokes just never work.
also most of you have stankey derangement syndrome and would find a way to take offense at almost anything he says.
No way he actually said that.
Did he actually say that?
Yes, He actually said that at the beginning of the earning report recap town hall.
No way he actually said that.
