Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

being forced to report to multiple offices

I am surprised that I haven't seen anyone post about this. In April my team was told we had to report to a new office on a certain day each week (same day). They said this was for collaboration. We still have to report to our other office two days a week (originally told this was for collaboration). Still haven't collaborated at either location. Anyone else have to report to two different offices?

Too many undesirables showing up at Brigham

Wells Fargo has always had a problem with reporting. They are so concerned about being caught doing something wrong, or because of their absolutely bizarre and inappropriate management system, which fosters the advancement of totally unqualified people, who have a Little Napoleon syndrome. I experienced their quest for destruction and slavery repeatedly, over a couple of decades. I can not understand why the regulating agencies have not put an end to their draconian management practices.

London bridge is falling down and so is Wells Fargo - and much of the rest of the tired, trickster, financial trainwreck that is the Western banking system.

“Recently our manager informed us that we must report to our specified location in order to get credit for the three days per week. If we badge into another location one day to collaborate with another group, that location does not count toward the three weekly in-office days in the report provided to managers. “

This was brought up in my group but it was in response to a particular site in our town “not having room” for all the people assigned to that location plus all those popping in since it’s close to others’ homes and has free parking. We were told show up at our assigned location or d1e. lol

What is shown on the report is if you are going to another location more than 50% of the time it is flagged to the manager. If someone persists in doing that - it becomes a warning, and then CPG will shut off badge access to the other location.

What is the BS about Collaboration, if this is how it is going to work?

CPG “collaborating” with mgmt! Why does that make sense and at same time reveal snitching 🙃

"This is absolutely NOT true. Every badge-in and every network connection counts on the report regardless of location. I review these reports."

Perhaps it is not true for your area, but it is current practice and enforced in our department. The disparity of procedures only shows what a complete hash they've made of RTO.

@fmh+1sDwVVtK I wonder if the shuffle at Barnhart is fueled by corporate properties answering to their mgmt? Barnhart had quite a few renovations in the past few years--and with other Oregon sites closing I wonder what the plan is for the Tower.......?

If we badge into another location one day to collaborate with another group, that location does not count toward the three weekly in-office days in the report provided to managers. The exception has to be approved individually. The amount of time and effort lavished on policing their infantile obsession with RTO is incredible.

Good idea about the expense miles! It's actually closer to house (by about 5 minutes) and I like it better. It does have paid for parking though and normal office does not. It is 10 min at most from other office.

Be sure you expense the mileage for the difference if further than your home office.

I go to five different offices, five days a week.

This sounds really weird and I don't think I've heard anything like across the country.

To those that think it's related to taxes and occupancy, you are giving these guys way too much credit. Further, even if someone was looking at that, it wouldn't be the OP's manager.

Totally respect not wanting to share location.

It does remind me of someone else's report on this site stating that their team is being moved to different schedules and locations within the same building - this was after a bunch of management layoffs happened, and it's at a site that Wells is looking to close soon (Barnhart, Oregon). Just trying to make it uncomfortable by moving people around. Though it's possible there are other reasons for it, of course. Two birds, one stone.

I’d be interested in the state, city, and site locations. It really sounds like a coordinated effort to keep tax incentives by over reporting office occupancy levels. That’s fraud.. in case anyone one is wondering.

I'm in a hub city, but most of my team is not in this city. I thought they might be trying to increase discomfort. The day it was announced I expected lots of posts here but maybe it's an isolated event so don't want to share location quite yet.

I'm curious where you're located. Wondering if they're trying to increase discomfort to increase attrition in your group or at a site they're looking to downsize.

This is in a hub city. Interesting point about occupancy numbers. On the required day in Office #2 I've been staying the whole day (it's only been a few weeks so far). On the days in Office #1 it depends. I was wondering if they were trying to get some of us to quit by forcing us to come in on a certain day in a new location. Occupancy numbers makes more sense.

Sounds like someone is trying to fudge the occupancy numbers by having you report to numerous sites. Do you spend the whole day? Considering tax incentives are directly linked to office occupancy, it sounds like this is being done to give the illusion that offices are being used as to not loose tax payer funded subsidies. Sounds like a news story somehow.🤔
