“Yeah let me guess you all stand around talking to your gen z buddies that also have no experience. If you're such a genius come out of your echo chamber and leave ATT. Let's see if you can stand on your own. The old people you are referring to can do the job in their sleep that is how good they are. Maybe set aside your entitled pride and learn something that will be relevant to the street. You people crack me up with all this entitled nonsense. It laughable! ATT has had a rough stretch but it is a good company that has some talent that have been with them for a long time. This is comical!”
Us young people chase TC, it’s all that matters in 2024.
There is no such thing as company loyalty etc because in 2024 the company has no loyalty to you.
If you’re at a company more than ~5 years you’re stagnating and could have jumped jobs for more TC and up-leveled.
T is a dinosaur with no real product to be proud of or impactful innovation to be inspired by. They’re legacy tech riding the coat-tails of a monopoly setup by men who aren’t even alive anymore that no one remembers. A past agent of innovation when bell labs was in its prime that’s been cannibalized by foolish old men with business degrees thus becoming an echo of its former self.
A pathetic relic of a bygone era that will likely be further consumed by newer better companies and forgotten about like the old T boxes on 100 year old bungalows.
Men, such as Stankey, have driven this company to the edge of oblivion chasing short term stock gains ignoring the long term impact just as the executives have done in other similar companies such as Boeing.
If you believe T is still great, then that just goes to show how truly out of touch and antiquated YOU really are. Living in the past, when America was at it’s prime and T still maintained it’s monopoly over telecom, but then there came the internet, and competition, and cell phones, and so many other new technologies that T never saw coming because they made the same foolish mistake they’re making today - ignoring the true genius technical minds right under their noses and opting to listen to fools with business degrees, management degrees, consultants, HR representatives, McKinsey, etc - the same people who told them cell phones would never take off.
And here we are, in 2024 - with people like you cheering on RTO, swearing, like Stankey that T is a great company.
Swearing things won’t change and we’re “just about the turn a corner” - listening to McKinsey again, taking culture surveys just like in the 1990’s when they advised T cell phones weren’t going to be a thing.
WFH isn’t going to be a thing, tech isn’t going to be a thing, competition isn’t going to be a thing, let’s keep doing the same things we’ve always done cut our way to success embrace long gone revenue streams, listen to the fools in suits - it always worked out before, right?
