Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Cyber Security LOB No American jobs

Cyber Security's LOB is led by India senior leaders and all jobs seem to be populated only in India now for this line of business. I had some coworkers apply within the company and they were denied and those positions were filled by India reps. Furthermore cyber security is now having to read from a predefined script and no free thinking... I have many American counterparts who are being told by their few remaining American managers that they must, by all means, not create waves or ruffle feathers if there's a problem they must not report it. The American managers that remain are more concerned about keeping their India managers Happy by hiding potential security concerns.

Every management level meeting when there is an issue of some kind none of the Indian managers take responsibility they blame everyone else for failures of systems that they manage. This kind of response has led to many American managers to jump ship and looking still to jump ship.

Many Indian managers in this line of business are pushing hard to eliminate tier 1 and tier 2 teams and replace them with scripts to read from and AI/ coding to automate said work.

The Indian senior leaders are pushing hard to hold American leaders responsible for failures that fall under their name and in these meetings they are verbally disrespectful and violate many HR policies with their disrespect.

If you are working within the Cyber Security LOB and are american-based then it is strongly recommended that you brush off your resume and start putting feelers out there. Wells Fargo's leadership team in this section of the bank is pushing hard to move it all over to India and the senior leaders are touting that it is American workers that are causing the problems in American workers that create all of these issues and no one is pushing back against them.

Internally the talk is to eliminate many tier 1 and tier 2 teams by the end of the year to meet what the CEO called "fixing inefficient processes and procedures".

One of the ways that they're going to do this is by holding the American workforce accountable for not being in the office 3 days a week. Many India teams are working with their Frontline managers to work from home still and they're not being held to the same standard as American workers in this regards. Also senior leaders have stated that they are starting to reach capacity limits in Minnesota North Carolina and Arizona for cyber security workers. This capacity limit issue is putting the returned office people in a bind because they're projected to deny them a seat at said locations because of lack of capacity yet require them to be in the office.

More is this issue in cybersecurity. Starting from the CISO to App Sec , they are all from that one place. If they were competent, it would be one thing…but they are not.
Terrible.

Indians are gradually taking all the IT jobs in America.
They explicitly have an agenda for that.

Looking around at leaders in this area, one does get a sick feeling that we are surrounded by those who don’t mean well.
Also- It might seem this fear of work moving to India is an exaggeration. It is not.
RTO is just one mechanism to achieve their goals.

Be aware…..Leave when you can….

First security and then development. I found that the I crew were good at explaining to management the "what" but when it came to the "how" they were lacking. Either management can understand what they are saying or politely say that they do because they don't want to be embarrassed by the charisma of the Indian developer. Regardless, AI generation will help them with the "how" and have them be able to replace US workers more rapidly. Bottom line, I see more centralization of securitization, risk management, design, and development happening in India.

Wells is also skirting American and India laws by hiring Indian managers, but having U.S. based employees report to a U.S. manager who doesn't actually set the strategy. It's a shadow org mapped to India.

In addition to what OP mentions about India, India teams are not completing or testing their work, pushing to close tickets without actually solving the problem, and then passing it on to U.S. workers to take the brunt and fall.

You can confirm this by visiting the job search site https://www.wellsfargojobs.com/en/jobs/ Enter US as the country filter, and "technology and data" as the career area. In US only 2 jobs, API security job (New York) and an engineer of Cryptography Products (Chandler). All senior level and above. Enter India as the country and there are 6 security positions. Of course, many more jobs might be off the board and in process. In terms of WFA -- the jobs are dismal. Only one quant job is offered! When the wealth effect takes place this bank will be an inferno that even Jamie won't want to save.

I can confirm most of this, I am in North Carolina and it's almost every week our manager is constantly reminding the team to not create any problems by sending an email notifying people of a problem within a system... Instead our manager has given us explicit directive to report all of that directly to her and she will approach said subject in the appropriate time and forum.

Also with the production changes that need to happen it is becoming more and more difficult to get approval for these changes. We have a hard enough time getting our changes approved the right way we're having to rely on our manager to use a private teams chat with her Indian manager to use his Indian friendship circle to back door the approvals in a timely manner.

This sounds like a conspiracy, I am at the Minnesota office and there's enough seats to go around it is not packed by any means, maybe cyber security has a assigned seating requirement that is causing said problems

Indians only hire Indians, that was the sentiment over many years of tech companies in Silicon Valley. It will all go to India.
