If he was Jesus Christ people would have stabbed him and then started worshipping him, so please stop comparing with Jesus.

Why would he take the pay cut when he can cut the low performing orgs and hire fresh talent from outside?

Just think. Several hundred jobs could be saved simply by cutting his pay 50%. Something tells me he’d still be able to pay his rent.

Until shareholders step up and put an end to excessive executive pay these types of gross compensation abuses will continue to occur. I’d also fully support legislation stating that once an executive gets paid more than 100x average employee pay, each dollar after gets taxed at 90% with those funds going exclusively towards helping displaced workers.

“But that’s s..s..s..s..s..s..SOCIALISM!!!”. No it isn’t. Words mean things. And that isn’t what the word “socialism” means. This is merely restoring some sanity into compensation practices that in previous decades would have been considered highly immoral, greedy, and unjustifiable.

You’re a corporate executive for a company that sells footwear and apparel. You aren’t Jesus Christ himself nor are you solving the world’s problems. Stop even pretending that an economic or moral justification can be made for looting the corporate treasury at the expense of everyone else. I swear, with each passing year I’m starting to better understand why the French Revolution happened.
