Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Dynamic Defense

Can anyone tell me what this is and why all the execs are posting about it like it’s so amazing? I thought we were selling cybersecurity off?

You are sadly mistaken and completely wrong. Dynamic Defense has not been in production for 10 years. It was just recently released for GA, after months and months of issues with the companies that first signed up to be guinea pigs.

This platform has been in production for at least 10 years, I get that some people are just so unhappy that no matter what everything AT&T does is wrong or broken. If you are an employee and this disgruntled find work someplace else. No reason to work someplace that you think is 100% bad on every level.

it means that the Dynamic Defense offer, which is aimed at small biz, is being sold as the cure all of your cyber problems.

It isn't.

It is a really good product

Until someone who buys it gets infected and asks why AT&T didn't block the threat. Or they block good traffic and cause an outage on someone's network.

Dynamic Defense is not part of the cybersecurity spin-off. Keep in mind the Cybersecurity Spin-off is the old Managed Security Services (Customer security services) and AlienVault basically. CSO (Chief Security Office) is untouched and is the product owner of Dynamic Defense which is the old Network Based Firewall solution in simplest terms. If supports Firewall in cloud and on the provider side of customer circuits which means it can stop DDoS attacks and deliver nothing but clean traffic to our customers. It is a really good product and my understanding is that the company buying the Cybersecurity group wanted this to come along since they manage it but we would not agree to let it go, at one point they thought the deal was going to fall apart over it.
