Look, they’ve already told half my team that we aren’t at a strategic site and will be shut down in 2-3 years. I’m not excited that they’re ready to flush 20+ years of my life down the toilet because the mountains of money they are making aren’t as big as their competitors. But I’d like the whole thing to just END already. I’m not leaving without my severance, so pick up the pace.

Develop You courses are a regulatory requirement.
So as long as you're an employee (during 60-day or 90-day notice period), you must complete them. Adding insult to injury; right? If you don't finish them, you'll be terminated for cause and get NO severance and perhaps no unemployment benefits.
Take it from someone who knows... I was laid off b4 and course completion (10 of them) was due 1 day before 60-day notice period ended. My entire displaced team had to complete ALL of them. It svcked!
Yup just get it done with already! I am always hoping every day is going to be the day.
In a vacuum, no, I don’t WANT to get laid off. But you guys aren’t working at the site I am. There haven’t been new positions posted at this location in over a year now. There is nowhere to grow. I either have to stay at this job until the building shuts down or find something else. The thought of applying outside WF and interviewing is a little scary, I’m not going to lie.
I’d rather just get laid off now, get my 40+ weeks of severance, and just be done with this company. I’m fully prepared to have to get a job where I won’t make as much.
I don't want to be laid off. If/when I leave WF, I want it to be on my terms and timing.
For those that stand to get a year of severance, be sure to double check your retirement math. Cuz... You ain't finding another gig like this.
do I want to be laid off? No. Is it the end of the world if I am? No.
Definitely don't want to be laid off, not for a few more years at least. Also, FHY.
No, I am not anxious to be laid off. I have a good paycheck, generous pto. The job market is not as good as you think. If you want to leave, find a job while you have a job. Unless you're 63 or 64, then wait for a severance. I will put my future in my hands, not this horrible company.
Yes! Displace me already!
I wonder how many of us wait until the Wednesdays after layoff Tuesdays to work on Develop You courses.

Not everyone is either “could be be homeless” or “you have too much money” categories. Plenty of us are somewhere in the middle with options and plans where being displaced with severance at this point will be an amenable alternative to continued toxic employment with WF.
Do you know how much health care (including dental and vision) cost these days? Most America's are in some type of debt these days. If you have a steady paycheck coming in, you're lucky. I don't really think you want to be in a situation where you could end up homeless or have a major health issue that you may not be able to continuously afford. If you have too much money, please donate it to someone who is homeless.
Bots! It’s so weird that the bots actually got a handle on this site!
This corporation has so much money, For you to lay off little people for your little di-k, is really very bad for America. Period.
Yeah, you got $178 billion in equity so just lay me off now!
If that’s your game, pay me my damn severance, which is pittance to your sh-t!
If this site has taught me anything, it's that anyone who's been at Wells longer than a few years has a few sc--ws loose. Let alone the ones bragging about decades.
But sure, keep being miserable for years more. You sure showed them!
