We have had 4 Prem tech openings in our area for 6 month’s. Can’t fill the positions. Nobody wants the job, once they hear the pay, hours and days off, they leave.

"Go to the Att website and careers to find employment opportunities." - man I was trying to go backdoor vs. the cr-p like "Career Path" that attempted to eliminate moving to a new job based on your networking/reputation. LOL

"in addition, we're looking for more techs to hire!" - where I'll apply. Retired SWBT/SBC/ATT IT guy with networking experience and previous Prem Tech CP deployment. I could use a little extra money these days. ;) Love the work I did in that role.
I can confirm that my org's field techs work only around 20-25 hours per week and get paid for 40 even getting a lot of overtime as well. In addition, we're looking for more techs to hire! Not sure why, but that would equate to more down time for the existing techs.
entry level positions=younger folks with little technical training or education. many are wanting pay for 40 hours but only work 20-30, weekends off for decompressing from all the work during the week, free money in 401k and base pay of $100k.
its all about work life balance and ad revenue from tik tok.
All those Mastec techs are just sitting around with the CP group waiting on a call. Who is paying for all this availability but no work? Don’t think so, I’d like to see them replace 22,000 skilled positions, not happening
plenty of techs with MASTEC are in the position to do the work. Just issue a service PO

That was done before. The problem is that AT&T doesn't exactly like to pay the contractors in a timely fashion. What a surprise.... A contract to do work for AT&T is not that desirable anymore.
Even the MASTEC contractors like to get paid on time. Weird isn't it?
They are constantly hiring and training Prem techs in my area. Once they’re trained and some experience, they move over to the local catv company. It’s nice of us to constantly train their workforce for them.

Thanks RJS. Your legacy continues to destroy whatever is left of a once great company.
No surprise. AT&T has abused the available workforce pool for some time. Good to see things are getting corrected.
In some area’s they have contractors doing the Prem tech installs from the network Interface.
