Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

How can they expect us to be productive?

We're constantly in fear of being laid off. Every single week, if not every single day. And we're supposed to hold our heads up and be productive amid all of that? How?

"You sound jealous pal. Sorry your boomer generation taught you to work 80 hours a week with no life. Joke is you, you are on the chopping block like everyone else. Go live a little."

Hee Hee. I ain't no boomer, fool. Gen X. and yeah, I worked hard, partied with my colleagues, and got ahead. not like mrs. 'I'm gonna do the minimum, p1ss away my 401k, and live off my husband'.

now, I am at the end of my career, got put on the chopping block, and now am leisurely enjoying my retirement. I am jealous of no one.

Cheers!

HY actually prefers it when the American part of the company has poor performance/production. They use that to help justify even more outsourcing and contracting. The only question at this point is how many survivors will be left when Shart finally leaves this sinking ship.

I have been doing the bare minimum for decades and just got promoted. Everyone who knows me was surprised but I guess I showed them.

Why would they care if you’re productive when the goal is to get rid of you one way or another?

"I've been doing the bare minimum. I already told my husband: I'm taking six months off If I'm laid off. I'll cash some of my 401k and maybe take a whole year off, while I look for a job outside of banking ."

sounds like you are at your maximum, if you are willing to waste 401k money. sounds like you are 'entitled' and deserve being let go. your mrs. degree is paying dividends.............

Cheers!

Same.

Also my manger has essentially ghosted me for months now. Bonus is that manager is not in my business or micro managing. Downside is manager has no clue what I contribute. If I’m not displaced before mid year, I feel like this is a set up for needs improvement rating somehow.

This is the lowest I’ve even seen morale and productivity in my area. I know some other teams have tight deadlines and priority deliverables but a fair amount of us are sitting around with meaningless busy work or a complete lack of focus.

Just displace me already!

Having been a FTE and back on multiple contracts with WFC, I can honestly say that some layoffs are needed. Walking through the Cust Remediation floor on an average day, nearly half are on phones.
This bank or others shouldn’t be like Congress where you can stick around forever. Always have a resume ready.

spot on. it is out of anyone's control, so focus on what you are supposed to,

pretty easy, just do your job. if it's your time then it's your time. Constantly worrying about it won't change anything. If you are worried about being laid off then do something about it and look for a new job.
