The people that will be shoveled into the new space aren't "the big dogs", they are overpaid NYC little fish. The big dogs are already in the existing HY space and that won't change until this garbage exec team moves on to destroy their next victim company.

A monument to stupidity.

You think the big dogs are going to leave Manhattan for Charlotte and Irving, TX? Never. Rules for thee, none for me indeed. It’s not just WF. The CEO of Schwab is in an “office” (mostly his home) in suburban Cleveland yet all their employees have to be in hubs in places like Dallas, STL and PHX.

In their mind, nothing is wrong. They decide what's right and what's wrong for themselves because they can.

Oh but there are different budgets for allocating this to that. The money used here can't simply be ported over to something else.

Finance excuse No. 00000000000000001 for today.

Nothing like pouring company money down the drain while also claiming efficiency is super important. We have space in existing hubs to house a couple thousand more people. This is a complete waste of money that is being done based on a very temporary CEOs personal whims.

Every time you hear "do more with less", remember this $550M boondoggle.
