Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

FTE respects and are proud of ETW teammates!

No hate comments towards our ETW teammates please! We are very proud of them and they are equal part of same company! Both respect each other and treat equal! Proud of all ETW and they owe same respect as FTE! Both should be safe from upcoming layoffs! No bias!Be proud ETW!

Team is 60% ETWs; they work just as hard as any FTE (some harder, they're auditioning for FTE roles) and our major initiatives would literally collapse under the weight of the workload if they were all sacked. Eliminate the ELT, ppl at the top making bad biz decisions, or you'll see the exact same situation repeated - deja vu all over again.

ETWs work way harder than FTEs and they're disrespected daily because of the colour of their badge.
7 years ETW so far and always declined respectfully FTE job offers

a ton of ETWs have been impacted and contracts ended in phases beginning November of last year, and I’m surprised that the current FTE layoffs are such a big shock.

and no, ETWs weren’t and aren’t treated equally as FTEs. The lack of support to the ETWs who were laid off vs the overwhelming support to the FTEs who were laid off is insulting. ETWs were treated as second class then and are being treated as second class now.

Digital first company my a-s.

Ahh, ETWs are not equal part of the company. They are temporary contractors, that’s the point, and they should absolutely be impacted before FTW. They are expendable by definition. It doesn’t mean we should hate on them, but let’s not sugar coat the reality of it, although Nike people are really good at doing it. “Group hug everyone!” (Eye roll)

thank you for the positivity!

there's so much vitriol towards ETW's on this site. it's perhaps "normal" that in times of uncertainty, people will start picking petty little battles with each other... but it's such a waste of time and energy, that would be better spent on holding leaders accountable for creating these conditions in the first place.

@bpl+1r7YVjEB ETWs cost significantly less to keep and they work just as hard, if not harder. So no, it’s not the “unfortunate truth.” Also just because they aren’t impacted now, doesn’t mean they won’t be. Give it a rest.

Huh? No one wants anyone to lose their jobs but FTE should be the top priority. ETW should be cut first for cost saving before we impact our core teams. It’s an unfortunate truth.
