Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Covid Positive? You're expected to be in office

The area we live in had a huge increase of Covid/flu/strep which then backed up labs (several medical offices have not been able to purchase rapid tests for 6+months)
Several employees who were showing symptoms and felt awful were forced to be in office while waiting for their results. When the results did come back positive they were told to be hush hush about it and guess what? 6 of us all had to spend NYE and Christmas away from our families because we all caught it, and do we get paid for that time off? (Since Fiserv is the reason we were all sick) HECK NO, due to RTO policy you could not work from home because duh only on Fridays is WFH allowed.

I've been sick since before Christmas. I tested negative but I've been WFH more days than not since the new year. I don't care if the company has a problem with it. I'm protecting my coworkers regardless of their unnecessary "@ss in the seats" policy.

No one is "forced" to come in sick. You either have unlimited time off or 144 hours (18 days). Stop saving your days for vacation and save some for sick time. Oh, and grow up.

There are covid home tests? I have not waited on a result in a long time (other than the 10-15 mins it takes for the home test).

Take sick time next time, if there's no one to cover, not your fault. Fiserv is doing this to themselves with their policies.

Well they’d still be working those 5 days they’d just be doing it from home! Come on this isn’t hard.

People who come in when sick are literally the worst. Your not a hero I promise your co-workers hate you.

No one is that important or what they do it more important than the well being of others.
If sick, stay home!

Can't believe topic would be up for discussion.

"Yeah, you person on a team of two supporting several products, you both take 5 days of sick leave. I'm your manager and I approve it!"

Said no manager here or anywhere. EVER.

"Take sick time" is great in theory, until you're on a team too small to support critical projects and you're notified in non-verbal/non-written ways that it's not going to be allowed. Hence why WFH was our last bastion of hope, infectiously sick on a team too small to be able to take time off? WFH!

The company gets the support they refuse to pay for, you get to keep your job, and best of all, no one else has to get sick for it.

That absolutely is NOT the expectation and people who come in the office when they are sick with symptoms are incredibly selfish and thoughtless.

There was an email to all U.S. based associates last month that said “If you are sick with flu, Covid or symptoms of any other illness that may be contagious, please contact your manager and do not come into the office…if an associate teats positive for Covid, they should isolate away from the office for 5 days.”

Can’t believe adults need to be told this but IF YOU ARE SICK STAY HOME.

Not everyone has the farce of "unlimited" time off. Those folks that have "unlimited", then yes, the R&R days off and wellness days off are all in the same category.

You have sick days for crying out loud. Nobody is forced to come in when sick. IF...you have a manager trying to brow beat you when you call in sick hold your ground and go to HR. I have never seen a manager be that big of a dillhole in all my many years at FD/FI.
