Just a matter of time before all the hubs "go", including Chandler. Americans demand too much pay and it's crazy expensive to house people there as well. Hudson Yards' dream is some people overseas + automation doing all the work, so they can just hang out in the ivory tower collecting checks and high-fiving each other.

You really went off the deep end there.

A couple things, saying Intel created the solar panels in a parking lot is just laughable.

Also, isn't the gym actually outsourced?l and employees pay to use? So they don't have a reason to close it unless they can't find someone to service the gym.

There's lots of moving around because they're getting ready for the requirement for all remote people to go back to the office... Currently the Chandler buildings are still mostly empty all three floors in all the buildings are still a ghost town. Based on verbiage from WF CEO he plans on eliminating remote work in 2024 and forcing all people to go back to the office. That is why managers are getting offices assigned to them and everyone else is getting placed in the cube farm.
The Chandler complex just got done updating their parking lots to make it look like it is covered parking but really it's solar panels that are providing power to the building, they stole the idea from Intel who's been doing it for years. Also besides the low quality health Care offered for 2024 the rumor mill is they are also deprecating more services such as the Wells Fargo gym and resources and other aspects like that where an employee can take advantage of bettering themselves physically and mentally.
Wells Fargo is still trying to push more technical jobs over to India because it costs too much to employ an American so the push to get all the technical people into the Chandler office is to serve two main functions the first is to force the teams to fully document everything so their Indian counterparts can do their job off of a script with no reason to Google the answer or you stackflow. The second is to eliminate said teams that are no longer needed.
There is talk of removing or deprecating the help desk in favor of AI bots and KB articles and setting things up for automation. There's also talk that Wells Fargo is trying to force more people to use their smartphones for business and work purposes, besides the RSA token that lets you into certain systems part of the cloud is multi-factor authentication but it requires an app on a smartphone to use. Senior leaders are talking about how they're going to force all employees to get on the cloud MFA to access any and every windows system.
One thing to note about the Chandler campus that isn't talked about but is very apparent is that people make it a point to go to the office especially when they're sick, in a cube farm it will not be uncommon for you to sit there and listen to many people coughing, sneezing, etc and there is no hand sanitizer anywhere nor anywhere to sanitize your work location.

Overall the force of the office is a grandmaster plan from senior leadership to deprecate the American employee support mechanisms because it costs so much to pay an American and they can cut 80% of that cost by paying an Indian to just read a script an accomplish the same goals.
For those who have been remote or have been coming into the office 3 or 4 times a week before warned that Frontline managers are also getting back into the groove of blacklisting certain employees on their teams, basically they are targeting one or a few of their employees and setting them up for failure to get them to quit or force them out the door by setting them up to fail...

I'm in a CS call center that hasn't hired in over a year and our trainer here let slip that they are training our role in AZ. So I'm assuming they're making room for those agents somewhere there. And we will be shut down in the process. Purely conjecture at this point.

Chandler has too many people assigned to it apparently. So they are probably restacking to make room. Also, I don't think they've moved to unassigned seating yet. So that's probably also in the cards.

Scottsdale will most definitely be a hub for the foreseeable future. There's probably 10k people there. Tons of talent in the area.

There are at least 3 fairly large buildings in north phoenix, tempe, chandler has several as well. Phoenix is a hub for some business units, not all. That's why you don't see jobs posted there and because back fills for many groups are only in I&P

forgot to mention MUFG, the largest bank in Japan and 5th largest in the world, lists Tempe AZ as their strategic location as well. Their office is in the fancy WeWork building by Tempe Town lake. Honestly they pay very well probably better than Wells but a limitation is that they only do commercial banking in North America.

No way Chandler is fading out as a hub. There are at least three locations in Phoenix metropolitan area. North Phoenix office, Chandler office and Tempe office. Chandler is the biggest and newest hub. For someone who says it’s hard to find talents in Phoenix area I wonder why AMEX, Discover, Chase, BOA, USAA and Wells Fargo all of them have hubs in Phoenix.

Chandler is a hub and transitioning to a a major hub as the bank continues to invest millions of dollars into the buildings. The latest can be seen with an extensive array of solar panels currently being installed across the parking lots and on top of the buildings to increase long term energy efficiency.

Chandler and Jordan Creek are hubs for now but will never be major hubs. There simply hard to find quality talent there. The major hubs will be Irvin, Charlotte, NYC and Minneapolois.

Chandler is a go forward hub. That much is certain. It's just a matter of reorganizing and restacking as they prepare for the coming news in 2024. There will be LOBs with cuts but there are also new LOBs coming into Chandler.

RBRM may not make the cut. Heard SVB is not a fan of centralized bankers.

interesting that many jobs are not listing Phoenix as a hiring location. No longer a Hub?

lol, so long as we HAVE mortgage. Surely this is an effort to get some to quit so WF doesn't have to pay severance. That's all RTO is ever about.

Purely speculation - but they've been trying to group teams together and consolidate to reduce the footprint....I would assume it's something like that.
