Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Jeremy made it clear outsourced "employees" will be replacing some of us.

So it was kinda of comical to see that chart of all our new "overseas co-workers",, the fact he had to stress this labor pool is "employees" not outsourced , pretty much confirms what it really is . The other laughable tidbit was defending this nonsense, byt stating AT&T is an international company, so its natural to have offshore staff.. strange for an international company why are we only hiring in cheap cost of labor countries.. (India, Slovakia,Czech Repub, Mexico) , in any case its just a matter of time before those jobs leaving the US permanently will have us training our replacmentts.

Riddle me this Batman... "Are all those new 'employees' now residing outside of the US going to be forced to RTO to NJ, TX or CA?" We can't loose any synergy by having them work remote!

“I don’t think it’s legal to allow access to our network transport equipment offshore.”

They already do, and have been for the last 10 years…where have you been ?

Stankey specifically said he wasn’t going to expand overseas because Telcos already there were embedded and Att could not compete. Legg must have been trying to put lipstick on a pig.

“ I don’t think it’s legal to allow access to our network transport equipment offshore. National security. Some equipment yes but not the telephony backbone.”

Crazy talk, you must believe in Bigfoot too..

Outsourcing is a financial windfall for T, it is an absolute straight line objective they’ve been working for 5 years. Union jobs will continue to quickly melt away and nothing will stop that. For example, it makes zero sense to pay a union call center employee that is $100k plus a year fully loaded when they can outsource and have 4 people for that cost. Customer churn is figured into the equation so the math is the math.

Directv in Latin America does not count you id--t and the Mexican mobile acquisition was another failed acquisition that helped the Mexican telecom company more than helping additional revenue attainment for T.

AT&T is actually an international company, with consumers in Mexico. Add to that, the TV customers that DirecTV owns in Latin America
All should know the holdings of the company in which you work for!

______
We are not an international company, we don’t have consumers internationally and our big international business customers have shrunk significantly.

It is clear that only those with no marketable technical skills will move in wave2. If you posses skills and knowledge you will find a job elsewhere. T will end up with bunch of middle aged employees who can’t do nothing except go to the office.

Every single employee is a cost to the bottom line. Reduce cost = reduce employees. Sad but true.

If you no longer feel valued at T, you should leave.

You will not be valued by T much longer. You think you are special. No One is SAFE! says J.Stankey. INFOR and WorkDay are working to rightsize the company. The AI that AT&T uses is nowhere as good as a human rep for customer service, but it's good enough for AT&T. AT&T has a very low bar set for customer service, so it works out.

I don't understand why we don't have international coworkers in Ghana, Gabon, South Africa, Liberia. What's up with that, Jeremy?!?

AT&T has become a disgrace to its employees, employees are disgruntled, confused, resentful, and rebellious towards RTO! There's no reason to give AT&T your all, just the bare minimum to maintain your job, period!

None of us can figure out what our offshore co-workers do. We sure don't see any results, and we have maybe an hour to "collaborate" with them.
