Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Omnicare is as good as gone

I absolutely don't think Omnicare will be in business in two years, at least not with CVS. One possibility is they are gutting it so badly they can shut it down within a couple years, or gut it so badly maybe someone will jump in buy the scraps. They clearly don't want Omnicare and they are not going to keep taking huge losses. They will just keep losing accounts until they are allowed to close it down.

@7wik+1qOs59Aq makes a great point.

As omnicare stands now, it’s worth more to keep than to sell - so the sell for Pennie’s on the dollar isn’t an option since they could have done that in 2023.

That’s fact it’s worth more as an asset than selling is f-ing grim considering its massive losses.

I don’t suspect CvS is trying to ki-l it, but they know what they’ll get for it as it stands and making massive cuts to make it less of a loss would mean maybe someone will take it and they’ll break even.

Selling omnicare at a loss would hurt stock temporarily more than just keeping it and trying to overcome the losses. Making it less of a loser so they can sell for what it’s worth (not as a profitable company) would help stock prices. Making it profitable would mean they’ll keep it.
