I started this thread for those who feel they want to share information about the layoffs that are supposed to start today.

Sorry bro…I couldn’t concentrate on the rest of your story after you nonchalantly mentioned you lost a driver who hit it 🐎
I've been working as a driver at the Reno, NV Omnicare Pharmacy for over a year now. I've seen 7-8 other drivers that have been either fired or have quit. We just lost a driver who hit a horse. I'm now the #2nd "senior" driver. Our manager (former) was recently demoted most likely over a total meltdown on June 2nd where a new staff was left in charge without a senior staff on duty. The deliveries were two and a half hours late and the facilities were never contacted about the pending delays. The drivers (me) were unaware that the facilities hadn't been contacted about the delay. Can you imagine their reaction to me when I finally arrived? They probably thought I stopped for lunch or was sampling the Controlled substances. Then I get called in 3 weeks later by my now departed former manager about my so-called bad behavior on the day Omnicare set me up for failure by not notifying their clients about a two and a half hour delay.
Anyone hearing any updates on the Omnicare/CVS closures? I have heard CVS has a buyer for Omnicare but I can’t find anything official to support it. Located in Indiana. Any info would be helpful.
Has any of the pharmacies that were told they would be laid off in October been notified that the timeline is moved up?
Nitro, Shreveport, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Huntsville, Panama City, Central Mass, Greensburg, Topton, Williamsport. Who else?
Really sad that a big name pharmacy had to drive Omni into the ground because they had no clue what they were getting into with long term care. Sad. But hey, as long as the higher ups are getting their bonuses for not doing the actual work!
Omnicare has not been losing money. CVS has been writing off losses because they paid more than Omnicare was worth. CVS is laying off people and closing pharmacies because they have taken on too much debt due to all their purchases. CVS is trying to get as much money as they can from Omnicare, while making Omnicare small enough for someone to buy.
I absolutely don't think Omnicare will be in business in two years, at least not with CVS. One possibility is they are gutting it so badly they can shut it down within a couple years, or gut it so badly maybe someone will jump in buy the scraps. They clearly don't want Omnicare and they are not going to keep taking huge losses. They will just keep losing accounts until they are allowed to close it down.
I’m sure that’s Karen’s plan. Drive Omnicare into the ground.
Anyone believe that Omnicare will exist in 2 years? Just don’t see how they survive with the poor customer service that is sure to follow.
Omnicare of Oklahoma City is closing
This cannot be a logical decision to “provide the most adequate care” in the WV region. 1 pharmacy servicing the entire state is absurd. My thoughts to everyone across the board affected by this STUPID decision made by CVS. I’m sure Omnicare will be wiped out by 2026.
That meeting was so vague. But keep up your productivity and we MIGHT let you stay. So infuriating.
U.S. billing teams spared temporarily. Omnicare will reduce US-based workers in the next month or so, with final layoffs announced around mid-March, with employees laid off working one more month likely until early April. Basically, they need more time to get the outscourced workers fully up to speed.
Omnicare New Orleans = Shreveport
Omnicare of New Orleans closing Octoberish
Yep, on Friday is when it will hit admin / billing / support staff.. They are just waited to get through the end of month billing/invoicing for January. The timing is perfect. Have everybody working there tails off through the 1st - Thursday, and then let them go on Friday. I'm sure they plan this months ago when they started hiring outside vendors to do the jobs.
Nothing much seemed to happen on Wednesday. Not surprising, they even sc--wed up the layoff process. The leaders at the Town Hall said "most workers will be notified on Monday, but some by the end of the week."
Clearly, I think the biggest hits are coming likely on Friday, maybe Thursday.
After Central MA closes, will there only be one pharmacy left in MA?
Central MA closing by October
How are 2 account managers supposed to handle the whole state of new New York?!
Greensburg,Topton and Williamsport pharmacies all being gradually closed in PA.
Morgantown is the hub in WV
Who is your hub in WV?
So sorry about Nitro. I think a lot of the "spoke" pharmacies are going.
Nitro,WV is done. Entire operation moving to hub.
Just had a teams meeting for consultants staying on. 20% of us were laid off. Those individuals were notified with a phone call. No idea how we will get the work done in the future.
I know this su-ks. And it does. Believe me. But this is painful. Just get it over with so we can stop sitting and worrying if we have a job or not.
What locations for the account managers?
Multiple account managers have been impacted as well, truly sad.
See other post, someone stated they got the call this morning.
No update. It seems to be radio silent so far. Prayers for those that may be affected.
I'm expecting to get a call as I think my billing team is going to get wiped out, at least most of us. But nothing yet at 10:30.
Thank you
