Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Leaving

I am leaving in the next few weeks.
Can someone help, besides letting my boss know, what all is needed.

Formally and informally.

Who tells me how many weeks I work till actual departure?
Who lets me know how many days accrued vac will be paid and what amount?
What should I be careful about?
Etc.

If you really have to ask here.. maybe it's a good thing you're leaving.

Good Luck to everyone hope all goes well for you. Customers do not like speaking to foreigners because there hard to understand. Wells Fargo will loose many customer because of this. So they can do all the back filling to India but it will come back to kick them in the butt in the long run.

My last day … will buy a big piece of fish from the grocery store night before, and as I’m walking out of the office the next day, will leave it in one of the hundreds of cubicles closed for construction.

you decide when you want to leave. standard is 2 weeks notice as a coutesy, but. nothing stopping you from giving notice. Depending on your situation it's best to give 2 weeks as to not burn bridges. take a screen print of your PTO balance. Also, I'd align it so your last days falls on the 1st day of the month as you will get another months worth of PTO accrual plus your benefits will last the entire month.

I had a new job lined up so I sat around and did nothing for 2 weeks then quit no notice on Friday and started my new job that Monday. It was amazing. My mgr and exec were some of the biggest POS I've ever met in my life. Forcing us to work nights and weekends and also making us essentially do the job for the offshore ppl we worked with as they could barely even understand how to open excel. I did not meet one person in our org that did not hate these people. In fact some of my mgrs old team even warned us to get out asap bc this guy was such a terrible person. Our team meetings were him talking and/or complete silence bc everyone hated him so much and refused to even speak unless forced.

Su-ks to have to ruin an 12 year career, but this place has become garbage. My new gig is fully remote, unlimited pto, and all of the people there act like normal human beings so far. I've yet to even work past 5pm, much less a weekend. Also people do not steal work here or claim they "led the effort". You present your own work all the way up the chain, and no mo--ns in high level positions that can't even do their own jobs. It's embarrassing how bad wells is now and how many complete sc-mbags are there, but it will be years before it gets better, if it gets better.

Make sure you use the 2 personal days before you leave. Use it or lose it.

Go to the employee handbook! It's the best way to ensure you follow the steps for a smooth exit and ensure any compensation/benefits/401k distributions are not held up bc you didn't educate + execute on the T&Cs. Congratulations and best wishes on your journey.

If you’re in a at will state, giving a notice is a courtesy. 2 weeks is standard. Leave so your last day lands with first week of next month.

Do you really need a step by step guide to leaving?

  1. Send an email to your manager
  2. Leave in two weeks - or sooner if they make that determination

You really only have to tell your direct manager. I would also recommend you ensure that you have not used up more PTO than you have accrued because you will get a bill for it at some point or they may take it out of your last check. I don’t know what the rules are lately.

Also, you really should just go to the employee handbook. And when in doubt, you can try and call HR although they are less than helpful these days.
