Has anyone else been invited to a mandatory 15 minute meeting on Monday (2/5) @12pm CST? At least 3 people on my team have been invited. I'm in the Jeremy Legg organization under David Brickhaus. I assume this is a separate surplus call and not part of the Wave 2 relocation efforts. I recall hearing that Legg was looking for a 10% reduction in headcount this year. I assumed this would be achieved thru RTO and making people move to one of the 4 main hubs -- guess not.

More employees are being targeted for surplus now since some managers are lying about relocation requirements and indicating they will move.
I don’t think I saw what org this was for, can someone tell us? Was the workforce reduction specific to the audience’s org or did they suggest it is more widespread?
If you were on the call then, it’s time to prepare for the possibility of going off payroll. Do yourself a favor and go to HR One Stop and download the Where-To-Go-Guide also, the latest Retirement Guide, there are two versions, management and bargained. Severance or any lump sum, is subject to 22% fed tax, 6.2% FICA/SS tax plus, your State tax %.
You will save yourself some undue stress by preparing for the worst or in some cases, the best scenario. Resume, networking, unemployment process, medical, vision, dental, retirement funds, severance, all need to be addressed. There are also a couple of AT&T retirement groups on Facebook for questions or reference. You may not be involved in a layoff now but it never hurts to prepare and have a plan.
Good luck and God Bless!
"A friend of mine attended the 15 minute this morning. Reorg. 100+ on this particular call, everyone on the call at risk of surplus at end of month."
Can confirm. Several folks on my team were told the same thing on their 15 minute call. I think HR is waiting to confirm how many Wave 2 people are willing to relocate to a hub location. That will determine how many additional people need to be surplussed later this month.
Cutting more dead weight (management).
I was in the audience and the call was broadcast.
There will be a 10% reduction this quarter, some reorganization, RTO re-assignments, more info in 2nd quarter.
Consolidations, work will be off shored & Rightsizing to continue.
Nothing positive, no real details.

Does it say "Do Not Forward?"
Think positive, dude. Maybe it's raise info. Performance reviews have been going on, and those who had theirs early were being told they had to wait on the actual pay increase numbers. Or are you saying it's a group call? Which could be what everyone says, or maybe someone higher in the group got laid off, and they're announcing it in a short group call for security purposes.
@1wyh+1qTX1Nvr - do all 3 of these meetings get on your calendar at once, or do you get #2 on your calendar after call #1, etc? Interesting, never heard of it done this way.
I got the boot on call 1. Call 2 Several others were told they are candidates for the boot but not done making the list and checking it twice. Call 3, you are safe for now.
There is usually two calls one before the other. You are either good or not so good depending on which call you are on. Sometimes they just let a large group in the org know that "you could be affected" before the future main event. Good Luck!
Bye bye
@OP+1qTX1Nvr Are you currently in a Hub and got this meeting invite?
There ARE some internal jobs available, even though the number is minimal. Start there, regardless of what folks are saying here.
Looks like your 14 day shot clock will start Monday. Good luck!
To the person who wrote: Dum Dum post of the day:“ Try asking your manager rather than asking for information on an external message board.” Id--tic statement!
Maybe his Manager who I am certain knows about the call should have looked out for their employee and given them a head's up before hand. If so, he would not be on this website trying to figure out his fate.
"Mighty bold to include so much identifying info". D-mb comment! Would you really care if you got an invite to a potential surplus mtg?
I worked with David. Good guy. Hope everything works out for you. I know there were meetings in Dallas last week as managers flew in. Maybe a reorganization
perhaps a connection award announcement with you and your peers. Congratulations!
Stankey and company wants to keep their massive layoff strategy out of the news and quiet as possible. A paid sycophant always try's to silence anyone talking about in a public forum. They would have to answer the questions of cause, discriminatory practices and the failures of leadership. How can a historic former blue chip company layoff well over 100k in 5 years and not be in the news?
Mighty bold to include so much identifying info.
Adios!
It means you are laid off or part of the layoff impacted group. Either case you are lucky. Take your severance and go work for a much better company.
On the invite are you able to see your other coworkers who were also invited, in my experience when the email is sent blind to many where you can't see who else is on the distribution list then it's usually bad sign
That's the layoff call.
Consider yourself fortunate. You now have to look for another job, and when you find it, you will realize just how sp-t-awful T is, and how wonderful it actually feels to have been freed from Stink's turture chamber.
Sounds like a walking papers call to me.
As for internal hiring, there isn’t anything internal except in Dallas. Very little even in Atlanta. With 2 weeks notice, there’s not enough time, unless someone can expedite your hire (not likely).

Totally disagree with you. People trust strangers in this company more than their own manager. Nothing wrong with someone trying to get answers for what can be such an impacting issue to their lives.
And I get it that this isn’t official and it’s anonymous but there’s many on here trying to help one another.
Nothing wrong with OP reaching out as people here just trying to help one another. Sounds like he or she will find out soon enough so your “ask your manager” answer was cold and unnecessary
And most of all…not helpful.
Thanks.
Try asking your manager rather than asking for information on an external message board.
"...no time to look for anything internal ..."
Um, those days have long since passed. In fact, you would not be hired for anything internal in the unlikely event you "found" anything.
Last Minute meetings are always a bad sign from my experience.
You get a meeting????!! I just got a insulting email from my L3 manager with the "package" and where to go for the remainder of the exit info. Last day on payroll 2 weeks later, no time to look for anything internal as you have things to do to retire from the bus.
