SVP talk of RTO "solidarity"

During his recent AMA (Ask Me Anything), SVB said everyone near hub and w/o medical accommodation is reqd. to come in min. of 3 days per week.

That's a lie. And he's the one who authorized special WFH arrangements for tech support staff.

I know of 3 colleagues who are 100% remote and live within 10- 30 mins of hub office, for no other reason than bc they want to and asked SVB to grant permission. 2 of them openly talk about being 100% remote. 1 of them even brags about it.

SVB might mean well w/his "RTO in solidarity w/others" BS, saying it's only right/fair. But he himself gave 100% remote permission to regular ol' staff (not tech experts that are challenging ro hire/replace).

How is that fair? Why aren't they having to go into the office? Sick and tired of exceptions being flaunted in our faces.

This is true. I'm sure SvB has been threatened to "get in line or get out". Shart loves centralization of authority more than anyone outside the Supreme Soviet ever should.

Y’all are naive if you think certain people won’t get special treatment. Happens all the time.

You mean the same SVB that gaslighted his entire tech team a year or two back and got all defensive when he flip-flopped on WFH?

SVB is pro work from home. It’s Schart and Powell that are pushing RTO.

I know many people from many LOBs that are WFH with no med issue. There is zero solidarity. F Hudson Yards. It's all bullsh-t!t and every employee can see it plain as day.

Never forget what they took from us. F Hudson Yards.

Yep.

Non-MA RTO exceptions ≠ Solidarity

Solidarity on the job in an ultra capitalist company? Seriously? Um, how about solidarity with people who are going to be laid off? Solidarity is what you get when you vote in a union.

I think I know 1 of the 3 you've mentioned. Lives in my neighborhood and never goes to office (I'm dealing w/serious illness and currently have MA). I always wonder how that's possible given all the emails and mtgs saying everyone is reqd to go in minimum of 3 days per week. Hypocrisy is baffling.

I'll eventually be going in while still under medical treatment and this individual will still be 100% WFH, running errands, exercising, etc. during the work day w/o a care in the world. Definitely not solidarity, SVB
