I have gone into Workday to term people who have resigned. You search for their name, and if you're careless, yes, you can term the wrong person. To avoid that, I start with my manager's team to make sure that doesn't happen.

Happened to an engineer I know in 2022. It took nearly 2 months for him to be able to work again.

It was a nightmare because he had to basically be onboarded as a new employee again. Too much red tap involved.

I highly doubt it. They don't remove folks based on name. They go by employee ID.

it can happen. a few years back someone with the same name as me left and all my access was removed, took weeks to get resolved.
