Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I am NOT a commodity!

When WF purchased my former company , we as employees and our contributions were highly valued. But since WF has assumed ownership we’re regarded as little more than commodities that can be purchased more cheaply from the third world.

Hey WF…We understand our borrowers, their businesses , and the environments in which they operate. We are NOT commodities.

Good luck replacing us from the third world.

People endlessly complain about closing the border, people who take farming, laborer or dishwasher jobs, but you never hear anyone talk about preventing middle class jobs being taken by remote workers.

Ummm, you're also "toast" if you have very few YoS and are cheap to term with little severance. It really doesn't matter what you do, it won't protect you from corporate overlords unless you work for yourself.

I can tell you’re a boomer from the way you type. Well, if you haven’t learned yet, we’re all commodities to be bought and burned when needed. It’s amazing seeing this amount of naïveté from the older folks here. You started working during a time when employees and employers had decades-long relationships which were meant to benefit both parties. Not the case anymore. These days, if you’re not moving to a different company every couple of years, you’re toast. Chainsaw Charlie and his minions wants to erase our jobs, and he will whether it’s giving them to Indians or Filipinos or making them automated. This is the cold reality. Everyone here needs to be formulating a plan like yesterday to get the he-l out of this place.

Unless you own your own company, you're just a number. That goes for all of corporate America.

Welcome to Amerika. All employees are commodities that can be easily replaced by foreigners or AI. Soon everyone will be fighting for minimum wage jobs at Starbucks.

Ha, I wish WF looked at employees as commodities. Shart and his Hudson Yards crew despise domestic employees. We're not just an expense to be eliminated at any cost, he hates us on an emotional level to the point that, in his own word, it "feels good" to fire us. If you're in the US, it's a race against time. Will Shart get his golden parachute first or will he term you first? Time will tell. All I know for sure is that he won't stop mass layoffs as long as he works here. It's the only thing he knows how to do.

Hate to break it to you, but we are ALL commodities. This is corporate life, like it or not.

Clearly you are a liability. Don’t let the door hit you on your a-s on the way out.
