Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Not so great bank anymore

I actually worked for BB&T until a few months before the merger was announced when I voluntarily left for a better opportunity. At least in my region, I could see things beginning to take a different approach to client relations and treatment compared to when I started. I was just some lowly RB but truly enjoyed helping my clients. I started to gradually see new attitudes take over from some leadership in my cluster and region.

That being said I grieve what was a great bank who took care of the customers and employees. It was always about money of course but we at least did a decent job of taking care of each other. I never regretted leaving and certainly don't now.

I am still here, but feel the same. Posted originally here -> @2wmk+1q8Vpb5B

"KK talked"
Yep, he sure did. That man sure could talk. So many words, so much talk. And without actually saying anything. I eventually just learned to tune him out as soon as I heard, "Hi folks, Kelly here!"

This discussion board has taught me people like to talk about themselves providing little to no value to others. Negativity is contagious and nostalgia over either bank is pointless. KK talked about a growth mindset and controlling what you can control. For all the hBBT’rs that felt like the bank was perfect take note of his comments.

The person who comments "narcissist" on every post where the poster talks about pro actively leaving the bank for better opportunities is my favorite

This discussion board has shown me that we work with some pretty rotten team members. The ugliness, disrespect, and meanness displayed on here towards our own, people in the same boat, all of us with anxiety and uncertainty is unbelievable.

And posts like this which are honest and tell the point of view from a person who remembers what this bank used to be before Suntrust took over always brings out the l-wlifes and sc-m as the first two replies show.

There is a way to be good to your employees and still make money. But the c suite would have to settle for a 7 figure bonus instead of 8, so....
