What is this nonsense? Employees have had months to prepare.

Good point. I knew back in April/March that something might be happening in the next few months, and started preparing then (mentally and financially). Sure enough, got laid off in the middle of the Summer, and it's ok, because I was ready for it. Anyone who is still unprepared or shocked it can happen to them, needs to really learn to pay attention.

“Human Resources employees are the BARGAINED employees of AT&T management.”

If you die, don’t die in December. HR people will be like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix dodging the 33-keyboard clicks to make sure your family keeps benefits. You will never meet a lazier, unproductive, unintelligent group of human beings than the AT&T HR department. The people of AT&T HR just fill out fake surveys for Latino Magazine, Black Entrepreneur, Pride Quarterly and Veterans Bulletin all day so AT&T can win “best place to work” awards. Can’t wait for January pandemonium when 50,000 managers have to access Workday and HR will call out sick for PTSD after 1 person calls them to ask for help on the Workday equivalent of an EPCR. Gonna be great!

"Also if you work for Legg’s org it happened multiple times complete teams let go without enough notice, or early signs to get people prepared."

Until end of Dec more people will let go quietly without making headlines
AT&T cut many jobs in mobility since Nov quietly, I thought those people let go based on performance but I noticed some are very good engineers

HR is telling business units there's a freeze but they can process anything they want to up until the official transition in January.

Employees quit and some might die in December. Are you telling me this Workday freeze can’t handle that? If it can, layoffs can happen too.

Is it fake news that AT&T’s headcount is 100k+ less than 5 years ago?
