Since the year freeze starts this Thursday what are your plans? As this time every year with the year end freeze we will probably be twirling our thumbs as there is not much work we can do.

Good time for BAU housekeeping...reviewing/updating procedures, controls, job aids, etc. due to changed links and whatnot. If you can't find something to do, log on to DevelopeYou and take some free training. Don't let your manager find stuff for you to do.
Really? Doesn’t work that way for me. Year end is ultra busy for my team. Oh and the PTO you want to take…? Yeah sure, but plan on cramming in an extra day or two of work outside your shift just to cover the 5 days you’ll be actually be out. And let’s not forget the extra tasks you were given for the displaced peer whose job no longer exists.
I like how you state that as if everyone here works in IT.
At the same time, seems like IT is always in a freeze regardless of year end or not
Freeze started in Nov technically when the mid-east blew up.
What freeze? My LOB doesn't freeze. If anything, it gets busier trying to complete findings and projects before year end so our managers can say how great they are.
Freeze or no freeze, my area is unnecessarily busy as Agile has created a consistent swirling sludge of nonsense that never fully drains.
No one knows up or down, we are showing up and then leaving each day unsure what it is we are accomplishing or how it fits into the grand design.
freeze does not equal no other work...
My team is slammed. No one is taking time off around the holidays.
