Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Our Leadership doesn't even check RTO

Reports. No one is going into the office any longer. It spiked at first but people have gone back to not giving a concern due to no enforcement. ATT will get their number of heads no matter what. Good people will be shown the door. Fat Sloth will remain. They never figured out a way to keep the good and remove the bad with very poor merit review systems.

just because you are not being badgered about it does not mean the data gathered wont be used. may the odds be ever in your favor

My AVP seems to be pretty relaxed about it (ie treating us like adults) but it does not seem like my group has had attendance issues.

If that changes who knows, but it sounds like this is really inconsistent across the company.

It all depends on your AVP. Thats the level making the call. Considering I’ve seen many at that level lose their jobs to RTO themselves,

First I have seen mention of any report of AVP level being let go because of RTO. What kind of numbers have you seen?

I come in 3x a week, do I stay there for 8hrs? nope. I factor in my drive now as work, you want me to come in to a far location? ok, when I drive by several near offices where I used to sit in, then yes, driving is now part of work. Catch me if you can.

HR is absolutely tracking this and many of us have seen the reports. Go ahead and fail to meet your required number of days... more seats for the rest of us.

If / when L4 or above start asking, then your leadership will start looking. You do realize, just because they aren’t looking now doesn’t mean there is not a history created. It’s not like it disappears if they don’t look.

It will be used against you eventually.

I agree with these responses. I'm an L2 in ATL and we get a weekly report from our director at our individual level. I don't know if our AVP is reviewing it but it's out there.

Don’t go in your 3x required at your own risk. Oh they are looking at it.

It all depends on your AVP. Thats the level making the call. Considering I’ve seen many at that level lose their jobs to RTO themselves, and have been affected in similar ways, it makes sense that some just don’t care.

Remember RTO was about headcount, and the first wave has already left the building. It wasn’t about who would go in 3 days a week, it was always about firing those who weren’t near an office to begin with.

My leadership checks. We’re all in compliance with the policy so I have no idea what theyd do if you weren’t.
