Of course there will be individual’s exempt from policy based on business travel needs. You heard it here first. Ps, those that are remote or asked for an exception, get ready to commute to an office.

Manager here. I can confirm it is true that this rumor is going around, but the rumor may not be true.
This rumor is true. Manager announced it on my Team call this week. I’ve asked other teams in the area and so far this wasn’t communicated to their teams yet.

It's pretty simple, just stop working while on site. They wanna play ####ing games? Ok, fine. They asked for it. I used to care about nothing but doing my job and doing it at a very high level. Charlie has decided that other things are more important, and to outsource ALL of our jobs, so now I don't care about work either. F him, F Hudson Yards, and F every bootlicker that thinks they aren't next in line to be downsized. We all will be. That's the plan. Outsource + contractors for everything that's not an executive role. That's the vision of these pieces of $$$$.
Give us free parking and assigned seating so I can drop loads into my managers box (TK) 4x a week.
Our team was just advised that the 40 miles remote accommodation no longer applies and those employees have a month to start coming into one of the hubs.

This type of post has come up every couple months for the past 10 months. What makes this one true? With the reduction in office space across multiple hubs, there doesn’t appear to be capacity for this. Even now with 3 days Monday through Thursday are virtually at capacity for seating.
I don't really think it could go to 5 days in most locations. There won't be enough seating or parking.
Not sure where OP is getting this from. Is it specific to a business unit. We are cracking down to make sure you are working in assigned location, If you are not coming in 3 days you probably won’t be here much longer.
bring it on but give me an assigned desk. Also, crack down on those SOBs who only stay an hour or so or leave by lunch time.

I mean I won't be surprised. With more layoff coming(one leader said it very clearly in all hands meeting) ofc they would leverage more tool to boost attrition.
Just to educate you, there aren’t thousands of workers in metro areas. Yes those 1.5 - 2 hours away will stay remote. But obviously you are such a tool you couldn’t figure that out! So when the po-p hits the fan, you could GFY.

Nah. There are 20k + remote employees alone. They couldn’t hire our India and Philippines replacements quick enough for that large of a number.
Nor could the insurer care for the huge uptick in short term disability claims they’d get. Not saying it’s right, but so many employees are legit at a low morale place right now and seem to be one decision away from leaving or trying to get one over on the company in some way.

I don't know about you, but I feel good to be in the office and enjoy watching my subordinates working very hard for me every day.
Resistance is futile, give up and submit. RTO is here to stay and eventually it will become 5 days a week. You have to commute to your designated hub location no matter how far from where you live.
It's all about "collaboration" and "productivity". Trust me, RTO is good for you. Don't worry, we can take a lunch break too. I play guitar during my lunch break.
almost none of us have designated cubes, they went to flex seating even before COVID although before COVID if you came in 4 days a week on avg you got a perm cube, but that went away. can confirm there is a flag on the rto reports that indicates if you are in an unassigned location >50%, although guidance around it's use is limited at the moment and mainly for locations that are full and th AU paying for it doesn't want to pay for you.
I can see them announcing 4days in the coming weeks then making it mandatory come first if year.
As for those who were hired remote, too bad. terms changed, if you don't want to be in an office then find a new job.
Just to educate you with the background context... Thousands of us were hired as a 100% remote employee before the covid, so we never had our own cubes in the office before the covid. We still don't have our own designated cubes today, it is a first come first served basis.

They ARE sending out more reporting around people not working at their assigned location, I can confirm that. I am a director with a team of 30. Have not hear anything official around the four days in the office, although I did hear earlier in the year it was their ultimate goal. Most of CIB has been five days in since RTO btw.

Yep, this is coming. They are already sending out notices for who isn't working at their designated office. Also will start looking at time in office.
