Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Jim Rechtin new CEO

I am hopeful and also skeptical. He is currently CEO at Envision Healthcare since February 2020 and they filed bankruptcy in May 2023. The company is a healthcare company and national hospital-based physician group. They are a network of clinicians who provide patient care. The selection in his expertise is strategic to transform and steer Humana into the future. Like most other associates, I am trying to hang on to my job, like clinging to a life boat. Humana has exited the group commercial sector. Will the company continue offering Medicare plans long term? Humana started in operating nursing homes in 1961, transitioned into owning and managing hospitals, and then entered the insurance sector offering health plans in 1983. I wonder with the focus on home health, and considering the acquisition of Center Well Primary Care and Kindred at Home, if the long term goal incorporates offering any type of health plan, even in the Medicare space? If so, most jobs which exist outside of clinical will be compromised.
At any rate, I was informed by management, upper leadership has confirmed more RIFs this year and also for next year.

Look to Jesus....please. How about some advice that is actually constructive. But by all means, look to your imaginary BFF.

He’s ultimately a corporate man who’s going to do whatever is in his best interest. And his best interest is pleasing the board and shareholders.

Look to Jesus. Not to this dude. This dude is not going to save the employees.
