Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

LinkedIn jobs

If they are doing all of this RIFing, Why does Truist have hundreds of job openings on LinkedIn in tech? I am looking for a job and wondering if these job openings are legit.

Capitalism in sheep's clothing.

Corporatism isn’t capitalism, it is more akin to fascism which is socialism.

There were jobs posted for my department and comments about expanding organization in the same week 10% of the staff was cut. Not a good look.

Replace old expensive resources with younger less expensive ones?

And you wonder why Biden’s job numbers look good.

Similar to the ghost jobs thing - companies "demonstrate growth" by pretending to hire people then will "trim the fat" with layoffs to show they are strategically streamlining. Investors are likely to think the company is successful seeing these steps taken therefore boosting stock purchases. Capitalism in sheep's clothing.

Wow... I googled "ghost job" and OMG - I had no idea this was a thing. It seems so unethical that I can't believe corporations get away with this.... what a sh*tty thing to do!

Don’t come to Truist if you’re looking for a job. You’ll be miserable until the day you get RIFed.

Ghost jobs. It's a thing that large corporates are doing to cheat the talent competition system. Google it.

Several auditing jobs are open as people escaped on their own and/or pushed out via quiet firing.

They're laying off in certain areas and hiring in others. Nothing new

In my LOB hiring managers already know who they are going to hire before the posting is listed. This is great for the "chosen one", not so great for other qualified candidates who have zero shot. Not sure about Tech?

Recruiting has to look busy. They just can't seem ever to find their unicorns.
