Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

How it works in CX?

From personal experience

Hierarchy-
SM > 2 , 3 executive VP > GVP > VP > May be another VP > Snr Director > Director > Group Manager > Senior Manager > Manager > 'You are somewhere here'

Any one above you would rarely work. Many of them would not even understand your work. No one in the entire hierarchy knows how to measure work or How to really identify talent from average. Single criteria you are the best is how good your are at su_ck_ing up your boss ba--s.

Developer life is he-l. You write code, do bug fixes, act as support engineer, manage customer environments, do dev Ops etc all at the same time in same day. You are supposed to know everything even if your boss does not know about it. Your working hours will be like 8AM to 11PM including weekends and even then your boss would give you a 2-3% raise. Sometimes you would be told markets are not good and may end up getting nothing.

best of luck future developers

Some orgs\applications in CX have reached point of no return (no support). Anyone still around is going to have a he-l of a ride.

"I was laid off from CX last week. More than 20 years experience. They do not need anyone here."

You sound like an IC. They needed to adjust you to balance the budget for all the VP title changes. This will continue every quarter.

"No layoff since Feb in CX"

Do not be in denial. I think I survived because was moved to CPQ product from Sales. Rest in Sales are sitting ducks.

I was laid off from CX last week. More than 20 years experience. They do not need anyone here. Was in denial all the time. Last layoff was in Dec. 4 months ago. So felt safe. Friends start looking around now when you have jobs.

No layoff since Feb in CX, so plenty around as they are unable to get out. I am one of them stuck here for visa reasons.

More VP's in CX meaning more politics and less of good quality work and less recognition for talent. CX has been digging it's own hole from quite long, LE, SM sustaining it somehow.

What a cr-p CX has become

People need to leave. Just don’t let yourself be used. It goes on because people let it. Leave the company and let it collapse.

OP how do you feel ?

When you are pushed too much, taken too much advantage off, still no recognition of all the hard work, yet still expected more of you, you can only feel terrible, cheated, and miserable. Its hard to explain what good people are going through while a-s lickers enjoy without doing anything except talking.

In which areas are the new VP's? Seems indeed madness

CX motto from many years now -

exploit employees and squeeze every drop of blood out of them then throw them away.

Management using fear, greed, ego, guilt, humiliation, lying, flattery, etc. tactics to squeeze max out of the resources.

Can you identify what's applied on you? Can you defend yourself from such tactics?

If yes, post it for other people's benefit.

Everything is LEGACY in CX, technology, products, PM's, management and management practices.

Why Larry Ellision why? Have guts to ki-l it and save some more money.

CX management is full of a--holes. No product capable enough to compete in market. Sales coming from other Fusion products.

DO NOT join until there is no other option. Nothing exiting to work on, no new tech to learn.

If you join have an exit plan. Long stay in CX is dead career growth and money growth.

CX management is full of idi-ots. They do not know, how to manage anything, literally anything.

There are smart IC's who keep bluffing them so easily and there are IC's who is being taken advantage of big time, in the name of peanuts, promo, reward and recognition, etc, etc.

Which side are you, my dear?

“ It is impossible to tell who is posting what”

What an id--t. Soon only boot lickers will be left around after the coming layoffs and then they can own this thread to gloat about the leadership here.

Now its out of control when a-s lickers are running the show.

When they close the doors and turn off the lights the a-s-lickers will still be there. They will lay all the workers off and wonder why nothing is getting done.

I've been looking at postings here for years. I have seen a lot of lies. Everyone take everything with a grain of salt. It is impossible to tell who is posting what.

I personally know so many id--t VP's at Oracle and so many excellent people either left or were laid off.

CX would be doing better if the reverse would have happened.

Now its out of control when a-s lickers are running the show.

big accounts opting out of CX
  • Nothing new, this been a trend from quite a while now.
  • CX workforce reduced from 5000 plus to 2500 in last 18 months without any official layoffs announcement
  • Hiring freeze even in outsourced countries with rare hiring events
  • Every few years executives laid off in CX, no growth under anyone
  • Poor product strategy
  • Poor execution
  • and many more

Save your life and career by having a escape plan

Love the AI comment. The one's that are left in the org are ideal candidates whose jobs will be taken by AI. They should build that app and productize it. What a cool hackathon idea ? Sharks are you listening....or AI has eaten you already....

With AI wave getting started it will be hard to keep anyone around in CX working on stupidity. AI will deliver the final blow to the org.

I am missing meaningless glint survey. Please send one again.

How good we are to keep folks who do not add any value to the products but have weekly meetings where they repeat the same things again and again or create processes in order to block someone else who is still productive.

“ When hiring they are supposed to look for qualified US workers first.”

Looks like my org has figured no qualified US citizen exists. The ones that are qualified are friends and family bootlickers coming from same village in the remote land where they all grew up together speaking language.

I don't think there are any laws saying have to layoff H1Bs, etc before U.S. workers.

When hiring they are supposed to look for qualified US workers first.
