Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

How it works in CX?

From personal experience

Hierarchy-
SM > 2 , 3 executive VP > GVP > VP > May be another VP > Snr Director > Director > Group Manager > Senior Manager > Manager > 'You are somewhere here'

Any one above you would rarely work. Many of them would not even understand your work. No one in the entire hierarchy knows how to measure work or How to really identify talent from average. Single criteria you are the best is how good your are at su_ck_ing up your boss ba--s.

Developer life is he-l. You write code, do bug fixes, act as support engineer, manage customer environments, do dev Ops etc all at the same time in same day. You are supposed to know everything even if your boss does not know about it. Your working hours will be like 8AM to 11PM including weekends and even then your boss would give you a 2-3% raise. Sometimes you would be told markets are not good and may end up getting nothing.

best of luck future developers

SEC man? He’s actually an investor. Chat with him occasionally on another site. He passed off info. Now waiting to see what happens.

You got to look at the big pic.
LE is 80 and now worth 174 billion.
Has a new wife. SC is dumping her stock like crazy. She’s ready to retire.
It’s really all about them.
If she thought there was a future she would be selling out.
He’s not going to hang on without her.
They had a good ride made a ton of money and don’t care about others.
He’s old. He has his resorts to think about & a lot more interesting. Otaclr is a dinosaur.

CX VCP is to strive to eliminate high achievers. There’s nothing more toxic than keeping high achievers alongside underperformers and a-s kissers.

True.

Any role in CX is just trash repetitive donkey work which most people with little training can do irrespective of qualification.

Seems to me, someone on LinkedIn posting wants to collect the severance package and get a better work elsewhere. All the best CX Director.

Honest confession.

A director in CX org posted on LinkedIn his work has been very mundane and monotonous always. Now with AI wave at age 60 he is excited to do some work if another company will hire.

H-1B. I know some people will not like to hear this but it must be said.

I understand the need for H-1B visas for people with a background in cybersecurity or AI, but most H-1B employees in support / operations add very little value. Why are we allowing this ?

As per Elon Musk, the CX Devops folks on H1B visa represent the 0.01% of smartest engineers in the world.

Fact Check: This team needs to given written instructions at a level that a toddler can understand and execute otherwise they will close the ticket. Why the fck we need H1B visa sponsorships.

The only way for VP's to survive is layoffs as technically incompetent, no management skills CX management is really good for nothing and main reason behind CX decline.

I know people who has built CX from scratch and those were laid off or left due to management politics. They are doing far better than people currently present.

Now only a very few good people left and I pity the massive work load on these few poor souls. Many are working just due to Visa status.

Lot of upcoming startups are doing far better in CX space than ORCL. Probably they should think of buying them and ki-l ORCL CX.

Now CX has become such a mess it is not adding value to ORCL, developers, product managers and people working there are just ki-ling their careers or oldies just chilling for retirement.

Perfect storm. Org has been crippled thoroughly.

Salesforce continues to innovate and push the envelope. CX org continues to perfect next list of candidates to layoff. All the experienced ICs in US have been laid off. The ICs in IDC have no experience or ability to deliver new software products. Due to ignorance and incompetence everyone is paranoid to not change a single line of code as they have no clue how the the house of cards was built in first place.

Nothing like to hire H1B ICs who were just laid off and on 60 day notice to leave the country. Pathetic...

Uhhhh, the post said if you think you are valued at Oracle, you are having a delusion.
It seems someone may want to look up what that word means, because I don't think you get it.

valued in any org at Oracle

What a Joke, since when CX valued people?
Why only fire in US? Are all 90% people in India better than the fired US employees?
Why almost no IC's in US in CX? Why they only hire H1 IC's in US, if any? Its ages I have seen any US person getting hired in CX.

and so many more...

Stop spreading lies and save people and their careers while working in CX.

Seems like you need to come out of plato's cave

If you are in CX, stop working and save your career.

Use the time to learn relevant skills. If they fire you, you get good compensation and a new job with better pay. Better to start this strategy immediately after layoffs as you would have more time before the next layoff.

Another strategy is provide 3x the estimate of your work. Most of the managers in CX don't know how to estimate the work. They will simply fake it so you argue with better and stronger reason. Chat GPT may help here.

Even if you plan not to leave, you'll enjoy your time.

Do not get stuck with CX outdated skills and technologies that no longer hold value in the outside world. Realize the stagnation, obsolescence and ultimately, a bitter exit.

Don't wait until it's too late. Take control of your future. Diversify your skills, build a versatile portfolio and stay adaptable.

CX dev does the production support, internal environment provisioning and maintenance. Why does customer support, CX DevOps exist?

To monitor how efficiently dev does all the work that they used to do and create more manual, redundant processes for dev to follow.

Now they added production support in developers job profile including weekends and holidays in CX.

Pathetic

Anyone joining CX, can guarantee that your developer career is over.

Did anyone figure out what CX DevOps does ? Claims to be expert at everything from OPs, PSR, process etc. No one in the org has ever written any code ever and have graduated to all things other than coding. Seems to be the safest org as there is no real deliverables they are responsible for. Most of the work is redundant already done by other central teams.

Anyone still remains in CX in US timezone. Please discover MAANG soon. Don't waste your time. I was doing stupid Devops work for several years and never written a single line of code. I was able to get in to AWS and tripled my TC. This have been the best decision I have made.

"Nephews, Nieces etc. all welcome aboard."

HR can take help of chatgpt to read the aria charts and make connections based on the last names. Do not need employee survey to confirm the diversity.

E.g. Ambani, Adani, Modi lastnames all get hired from same native land across that seven seas. in the world of 8 billion, we could only find them eligible for getting hired.

VPs get this for work they do. They handle 90% of workload of the org and get only 20% raise.
