How it works in CX?

From personal experience

Hierarchy-
SM > 2 , 3 executive VP > GVP > VP > May be another VP > Snr Director > Director > Group Manager > Senior Manager > Manager > 'You are somewhere here'

Any one above you would rarely work. Many of them would not even understand your work. No one in the entire hierarchy knows how to measure work or How to really identify talent from average. Single criteria you are the best is how good your are at su_ck_ing up your boss ba--s.

Developer life is he-l. You write code, do bug fixes, act as support engineer, manage customer environments, do dev Ops etc all at the same time in same day. You are supposed to know everything even if your boss does not know about it. Your working hours will be like 8AM to 11PM including weekends and even then your boss would give you a 2-3% raise. Sometimes you would be told markets are not good and may end up getting nothing.

I really pity these hard working people. Why you choose to work like this IC5, IC6? For what?

Not exactly what you asked, but the ratio of non-productive, bottom-feeders to productive employees is approximately 7/1 (managers, directors and vps were required to provide their updated stackranks to better enable reduction targets heading into FY26).

Hopefully this isn't a surprise to anyone.

Depends on team to team within CX.

For my team there are 9 management position above me for three of us total across global offices as IC's. This has always been the case as most RIF impacted IC in US

Dear friend, I can totally relate to your story under CX > AM > VVN

I was part of it and my life was miserable, I was sick and depressed.

Life under him is a hellish realm, a twisted and distorted world that seemed to be designed to su-k the very life out of anyone there.

and the MONSTERS in him, the embodiment of cruelty, heartless and ruthless, with no regard for human life or dignity, like predators a savage stalking their prey, feeding off my suffering who seemed to take great pleasure in my misery, ready to humiliate, degrade to su-k the last drop of my blood, me feeling drained, depleted, and utterly helpless.

Plan to leave as quickly as possible whatever your situation is. You'll be better if you remain sane, happy and healthy.

Well said OP.

CX needs to be muskified at the top. The stupid US based VPs cannot post one original post on linkedin or post one using ChatGPT.

Laying off US citizen ICs in US, abusing remaining H1bs and posting on LinkedIn is their only game to survive.

Product will be much better if most of them get flushed out of the company. VPs in india are the only ones working and keeping the lights on.
