Tuesday - 10:30 MANDATORY MEETING

Wellll...it may be my day to say buh bye to this place. Just got a mandatory meeting invite from my boss...along with 2 other people on the team. We're either getting more work or are all getting canned. I'll keep ya'll posted. But aren't Tuesdays, after payday, at 10:30 - "the meetings"? ;)
I can't say I would be hurt if it did happen...

Dang, just hit my 16 years. And I just turned 39. Can’t wait to get the boot (sr. Lead biz exec consultant) cause I’m In a non-core location. Writing is on the wall just wish they’d hurry the f up.

I am remote and just waiting for the call. I am curious about the severance package. I understand you get a week for every year served. And do you get 90 days with benefits as well? How long do your benefits last? Looking to be prepared...

I'm so sorry for the fear and uncertainty. I'm thrilled for those who wanted to be laid off. I wish all of you a brighter future. Put WF in your rear view mirror and don't look back! ALL THE BEST TO YOU!

@dbk
What do you mean by "Remote hub locations"? Are those people with special exceptions to WFH?

UPDATE: YEP...me and two others were laid off in Tech Control as of 10:30...but looking forward to relaxing in December.

Funny though...always the Tuesday after payday at 10:30...confirmed.

Can't say I'm sad...this company has been such a chore to work for for all these years...and I'm looking forward to a great new future.

As someone that was severanced over the summer, this is a blessing. You will find something better and then wonder why you stayed in such a toxic company. For me, it’s the people at the top that is ruining the culture, my team and coworkers were fantastic!

Good luck, life is better after WF! I hope you have a good length in severance that will help you through this!

It’s Cuts. Just had the call. Worst time of the year. But it’s also perplexing that they are paying for a high priced person from JPM to come in and take over a team and layoff folks who could do the job . But the old ways of not laying off during the holidays has gone. Company has no soul . Good Luck to All of You!

@qkp+1pOSa1ae Thanks. I'm gonna relax for the entire month of December if that is what this is all about. :)

there is a timeline that managers need to hit before systems get shut off - generally the decision to do group layoffs is driven by HR/ER recommendations so everyone finds out quickly and at the same time.

good luck OP! treat the next 60+ days as paid job search time and keep your chin up.

I've heard of entire teams getting the "mandatory meeting" invite and all done at once. Guess it's easier on the manager this way...who knows.

Surprised they would do it in a small group though and not individually

Good luck and please do keep us posted! Are you able to provide details on your LOB? or hints?

Blink once for Control Management.
Blink twice for HR
Blink three times for Mortgage

Sounds like they got your number. Just as I suspected, senior management wouldn’t let a little thing like a holiday stop the cuts. May your severance carry you through to the next BETTER job!
