Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

how does PTO work?

So, in January I receive 28 days PTO for years of service - if I leave in February and don't use PTO, do I get all 28 days paid out, or do I only get 2 months' worth?

It's accrued. So if you take a bunch of time early in the year and then get laid off, you will be asked to pay it back. So schedule accordingly.

@2exd+1pKQQsSD here...

PTO TAKEN, but not accrued will be deducted.

Sorry for the typo, no way to edit on this site.

This is listed somewhere in HR one stop but it is not easy to find. A teammate left this year and sent the link to the rest of us. It is listed by month and you lose 2-3 days per month left in the year.

No. Two months worth. I retired in June and got six months worth.

Surplussed myself in September and L1 manager.

Vacation is accrued so however many days you have accrued based upon methodology down on the HR site is how much you are entitled to be paid for….. you will NOT be paid for 28, or whatever, days if you leave in February.

Ask your supervisor or maybe ask the Director. You’ll get different answers probably.

If you are a manager, they will only pay you for what you have accrued.

“Don’t worry 25k badged employees will get permanent time off in 2024…”

Unfortunate truth

"Management" ... more like corporate employee. You're not a manager of anything. HR only calls you a manager to intentionally create confusion about your rights to unionize.

Why downvote this post? It's 100% correct. I mean, sure, there are some actual "managers", but most of us, probably over 90% are not actually managing anything or anyone. To be fair, though, I'm glad it's this way. Looked good on my resume, and helped me get a better job.

As others have said they basically front load you the whole year, but if you leave early you only get what you've earned for that year so far. To make it easy you earn roughly half a day per week of work. That's not quite right but I rounded a bit

If you are indeed in management, you have access to the PTO policy on HROS which clearly states it is prorated. If you take more than you earned, the overage is deducted from your last paycheck. Non-management follows the policy in the Black, Orange, Purple, etc contracts.
