Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T benefits

There are no as in ZERO benefits anymore working here.
As a 2nd level AM I was promised:
a. Free land line phone for life
b. Free family Blue Cross medical for life - while working & retired
c. Free cell service
d. Free wiring protection
e. Free DirecTV
f. Free 1 years pay life insurance upon retirement
g. Free 1 years pay death benefit upon retirement
h. Reduced vacation time
Now? Poof...Under Stinky Randy & One Lid John?.....ALL GONE.
Benefits were earned/granted/promised as our pay was somewhat lacking.
The 2some ran this company into the ground - they still steal golden parachutes while
the rest of us get rightsized, moved, terminated, retired etc.

Ok boomer, your generation still can retire to this day. The generation after u and beyond wont be able to retire. Think about that before u complain about the freebies that were "promised" to u. I swear, hope you got RTO'ed already. You got in the long ride, paid good, and everything. Go, and retire now. People are dying left and right and here u are complaining about your freebies.

If at&t is still gonna bury you, $15K management, $25K for Non-management. Not sure how much longer this will last, you may want to consider dying sooner rather than later!

Promises, Promises, Promises....for someone who has been with AT&T as long as you have, you should know that AT&T only breaks promises and rarely ever delivers on promises.

Listen here you bozo, you were only promised one thing, a paycheck, and you received probably more of those than you were worth.

Lies, lies just because you saw it in writing on AT&T websites and documents does not mean you were promised anything. What do you expect this company to do? Make you want to stay here and work hard.

Apply for the federal Lifeline Assistance Program to get free cell phone service. You will probably qualify for it before you retire from-T given your age.

Whether it was a "promise" or not, AT&T did carry on about how long term employment would lead to retirement benefits, as recently as a few years ago, to induce people into staying with AT&T. As recently as a few years ago, when AT&T was ending benefits to future retirees, they were carrying on to induce people to retire. So, we're into deceptive labor practices, which is enough to get a lawsuit going.

The only thing I’m mad about is not rebalancing my 401k to get out of att stock before everything went downhill. You definitely wasn’t promised any of that and if you was you need to find that person who lied to you.

Things overall are bad enough, not sure why someone would come out here and lie to such an unbelievable extent or are you trying to make a point and calling out people who think they should get everything for free. DirecTV was never free, just one he-l of a discount, phone line was never free just long distance, cell phone was never free unless it was a work phone otherwise 50% discount. If you work in a store then maybe some of these things were free as a work resource and so you could say you had it. Promised these things for life is absolutely not true and I am going to not waste my time on the rest of your silly list...

Nobody was ever officially promised all that. I have been here 25 years. However the point that benefits have been reduced/removed is very much truth. I will be off payroll in a couple weeks because I won't follow the work and I won't miss this place at all. I may miss a few coworkers and my PTO and flexible schedule but absolutely not the company and how it's CEO and executives treated all of us over the last 15-20 years.

What bothers us is that the Stink still gets everything and NOTHING has been or will be taken away from him as a result of his malfeasance. The Stink continues to receive all the above plus his choice of private jet travel to have his head polished.

Stink is a POS!

Sounds like you've been spoiled.

The company’s stock value is in the tank so what would you expect?
