Remote directors that don't have to RTO....do as I say, yada yada.
there are executives in risk who only have 3 or 4 directs... its a joke
There's two tiers of self-proclaimed VIPs, those that shuffle people around with weak justifications to ensure they always have at least 7 reports, and the true power players that don't have to.
Will they require the magic 7 number going forward?
What will happen if I have 3?
Director is a made up Corporate title it’s not a Job title.
And we also have a boatload of Sr Managers who “acquire” employees so they can meet their magic 7 number and “manage” a hodgepodge team whose work doesn’t really connect. WF is a cluster.
Two words: casting couch
People have to have the title to have the the money. Just that simple and forget HR policy.
Spans and layers has not been applied equally, that is part of the problem. Most Directors have at least 7 employees but occasionally you see a few with less than 7. I have seen one or two with zero employees which is crazy
Agree. Too many directors out and about. The Senior Managers who should not be one are all complaining about not being directors. Then the people with the director title claim to be all too encompassing busy and the ego pops up now and again.
After many years of work you realize nothing changes from company to company. The goal is to be able to work within the different personalities and not take it personal. There will always be people who have a title we all know does not deserve one.
If they have 7 DR's I suspect this is temporary before big move to center changes take place come 2024.
As a lead in risk management ensuring the firm's safety and soundness, I should be a director.
jealous much
It used to be a title reserved for those that managed a department! Then risk leadership started handing them out to boot lickers like Halloween candy.
Hear hear! Yes.
