All the good doctors and hospitals are in the high deductible plans only.

Was speaking with the security guard at the building and comparing medical/health benefits. I have to say his medical benefits are a lot better than T. He also gets Dental, Vision and AFLAC hospital indemnity etc. which are also less expensive then T in comparison. How can this be?

There are 5 choices for me when I looked and 3 are HMO's whether they want to call them that or not. Two are listed as "CARE" and the other is the select plan where the doctor list is so bad, that you better hope you don't get sick.

The other two have the same doctor list but the premium of one is such that you'll get sick when you see the cost. So as others have said it really ends up being the one "broad plan" which is the equivalent of the old bronze plan

The company plan is for you to be subsidized on your spouses plan, just like Walmart has taxpayers subsidize their workforce.

It is. My doctors office is full of welfare leaches when I’m there.

Well yeah, the high deductible plan is the old bronze plan. You're paying an arm and a Legg for the same garbage from 2 years ago.

“T insurance is very competitive with other corporate insurance plans.“

It is not. Stop perpetuating this myth.

I love my WalMart insurance.
And I hear the ILLEGALS love their free, zero co-pay, zero deductible HC insurance.

The sad part is that it will only get worse. The days of at&t providing affordable quality Healthcare are long gone, thank Stephenson and Stankey. They have done so much for the retirees and employees of at&t! NOT

It su-ks because our unions su-k. The union doesn't do anything anymore. Time to get out!

You guys are crazy, our insurance is perfect, I was told. When my union shoved Barack Obama down my throat as the pro union, every man President we were told families would be saving $2500/yr. You just can’t see “the big picture”

Yes our insurance su-ks. I have compared ours to my spouse’s (much smaller company) and we pay way more, get less coverage and have 3x the max out of pocket. I’m on my spouses plan. Also spoke with many others that work at other companies, only 1 out of 5 had worse insurance and paid more.

Everyone saying that the T medical insurance benefits are competitive are either misinformed or shills from HR.

I am talking about management/ non bargained options.

Thankfully I have been on my spouse's for years now. Also a HDHP type plan, but a $3000 contribution per family to the HSA and a much lower monthly premium.

I also compare all of my friends and families offerings.

T stands alone in terms of cost and coverage. And not in a good way.

Just like everything else AT&T does they have moved from a higher standard to a lower- middle-minimum standard. What is legally required is now the standard. What is industry average is now standard.

I had Kaiser. Stay away, goal is only to save Kaiser money. They are great if you have no idea what they should be providing.

It cost more to insure old people. You are old. What else needs to be said. Maybe quit and get a job with a company full of young people. Oh I forgot you have no marketable skills. Guess you have to pay what it costs to insure you. Stinks getting old.

AT&T Healthcare benefit has been extremely bad for the past 15 years. They need to change the name to catastophic insurance. Only use it when it's a catastrophe, you will pay big time, first with the premium, then with the deductible. You will wish you had died.

I have met max out of pocket 6 years running due to daughter with mental illness. HSA is nice but you can never save. It goes in and then right back out.

Spouse works at elementary school, 100% coinsurance, premium a little lower, no deductible, out of pocket lower, with Kaiser HMO.

Premiums don’t go down, each year they go UP!

I have to say guys... I used to think AT&T's insurance su-ked, until I got surplussed, and now hired at another company, where for the similar family coverage, my monthly premium is 5 times higher, and so I'm looking for other options, and I'll still be looking at least 3 times as much for similar coverage. Plus no HSA or other extras like apps with reimbursement accounts. I don't want to work at AT&T again, but heck... I'd take their "cr-ppy" insurance these days.

You people have zero idea what’s actually happening outside of ATT. My wife’s family plan cost nearly $5k a year out of pocket plus a deductible. My sister works for a fortune 20 company and her medical plan costs similar to ours in every way. ATT healthcare costs are comparable to other companies

Part of the Stinks strategy to drive people out is reduce benefits. WellBeing or Castlight? another example of giving you a worthless replacement

If you’re a manager on a “family” plan 3/4 of your available options are to have a $6k deductible AND still pay 30% of your total medical costs AFTER you have met the deductible!
