Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

For RTO People -- They are tracking which office you go to...

There is a flag in the RTO reporting that will show if you are going to a non-assigned location more than 50% of the time...

Be aware...

I am a manager who disagrees with RTO and has taken it extremely easy on my team. I was recently presented with a list of agents who are not coming into the office for the full scheduled weeks (we are every other week wfh) and told to put them all on corrective action immediately. This is coming for you and you won’t fly under the radar much longer.

They know. The ENTIRE point of RTO is to torment people enough that they quit without severance. That's it. There's no other motives or fringe benefits. They don't care about collaboration, or water coolers, or even tax benes. What they want is the extermination of the entire non-executive domestic work force, and to do it as cheaply as possible. They'll heap as many indignities upon us as they legally can get away with to make it happen.

@zbm What business are you in that the decision-makers and enforcers are Boomers? Most of the people making decisions are NOT in their 60’s and 70’s.

Let’s not talk about the Lincoln lawyer who pulls up to the building, parks, connects to the WF network and works from their car and then drives home a few minutes later. Literally happening.

How long are you actually going in for, vs the 6 hrs that is supposed to count?

Cuz I live close enough the number of days isn't the issue quite as much as the time.

One of the things that was never clear, some people have positions that require them to go off site to different locations. Management never told us how they are taking our roles into account. Now more than half the team have been laid off. But the work is still there.

This is a joke. There isn’t anyone from my team in any of offices close to me. What is the f*ing point on me going in? Everyone on our team is literally scattered in a different location.

When I occasionally speak to someone, I find that they are in the same boat.

#### them and their sh---y a-s locations. WF shouldn't even have admin buildings outside of operations. Housing people for no reason is a complete waste of money. If they truly wanted efficiency, they'd go full bore WFH. PayPal has, Coinbase has too. The truth is, CS doesn't give a S about RTO, except that he can we-ponized it to harass employees. That's the ONLY reason he 'likes' it. Same with location strategy.

Hudson Yards can eat a bag of ####s.

most managers don't care where you go as long as you go. they will only ever do something about it if the group that actuallynis assigned and pays for that location can't find seats in which case they may ask you to leave.

But are they tracking how long you are actually there for as well?

Everything I have heard is just about badge swipes, sit at a desk for an hour or 2 and go home, and unless someone rats you out, you're good.

Which I hope is the case, as I have been remote with Wells for 7 yrs, but lose it in Oct.

Wells has a lot of Flags and Lists. I don’t doubt they all exist. It’s the enforcement that is straight hot garbage. A rule is a rule, I couldn’t care less about what the rule is as long as it is enforced equitably.

This location thing won’t be an issue until a majority of management at a specific site are forced to complain up the chain by their staff. Only then will CPG get irritated and push the location flag in he reports.

Won't tolerate fear/threat based employment. Not a child. For 20+ years I've called out mgmt's bluff when logic doesn't fit my ability to do my job.

Some things are unavoidable to adhere to, yet at the end of the day, I take as many calculated risks as possible to give me some semblance of control (and make things more interesting).

I go to an unassigned office because commute times are way better and the facilities are better. My manager would rather have me RTO anywhere than quit.

At some point maybe I end up on a naughty list. Will deal with the situation when that day comes.

Thanks for the post, I guess we shall see. I was in Location X since March 2022 and then was moved to location Y in July 2023. I went to Location Y for several weeks but it was packed and about 2 miles further away. I checked my badge access and see that I still have access to Location X, so I've been going there for a few weeks. Haven't heard anything from leadership yet.

what this means that if you are assigned to location X and are going to location Y because it's closer to your house or more convenient, or because location Y has more space, then you are toast...

Come on, the little white circle that pops up… not news with badge swipes and/or tracking.
