Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

“A mediocre CEO does more than hold a company back. He or she occupies a position that a great CEO might otherwise step into.”

An Investing Analogy:

WHEN TO SELL A “LOSING STOCK”: (ticker symbol, CHAS)

The first rule of investing is to manage risk and cut your losses before the bad investment further erodes your returns. The tendency is to hold on to the hope that it might turnaround, but the more a stock falls- the more ground it has to recoup. The key is to stop the bleeding and cut your losses, and get your portfolio back on track more quickly.

Ask yourself: Would I buy this stock right here, right now? If the answer is no: sell it. The time you spend waffling is an opportunity cost to deploy the capital elsewhere, where you have the potential to make your money back.

I stand corrected. I have never read that portion of his interview before, but you are right.

Looks like we didn’t get one of “the good people”.

You are misleading about Buffet's warning.

The truth:

Buffett said that although there are plenty of qualified candidates on Wall Street, they would draw too much scrutiny from congressional leaders.

“There are plenty of good people to run it, but they are automatically going to draw the ire of a significant percentage of the Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, and that’s just not smart,” Buffett said.

Charlie is a loser investment. He was not necessarily a bad hire in the beginning, but he has proven over time that he is not interested in or capable of repairing the bank. A blindfolded eighth grader could conclude (more quickly than our BOD) that a CEO who starts out by alienating employees, alienating HNW clients, slashing jobs, slashing costs, lying about completing the work in 2021; and instead wastes Billions on Stock Buybacks isn’t focused on fixing the bank. Warren Buffet was correct when he advised our Board not to bring in another Wall Street Executive. Cut him loose.

lolz, you missed the decimal and meant to say 6.5%, with a full 75% of that subset in I&P. I haven't yet met a domestic employee that approves.
