Your career is so lavish you come to a layoff site to brag about how much money your degree is making you? Yeah okay.
There are book smarts, street smarts, and business smarts. The book smarts know how to score well on the paper, but it does not mean they can function well or excel in the real world. I got an MBA only because I didn't want to be screened out by HR. I don't think my graduate degree made me much smarter than before. I learned 100 times more from years of job experience than from my college education. Now that is my general assessment.
Having said that, there are certain fields you must have a good college degree for. Engineering, Medicine, Law, Investment management, etc.
I may be wrong, but based on my observations, most of the corrupt executives and managers seem to have the marketing, business management, finance/accounting, or control/risk backgrounds. These fields tend to foster toxic professionals.
It must be hard seeing people who have no college degree have better job and make more money than you are. Instead of asking why they got their job you should ask why you didn’t? Being bitter and jealous won’t do you any good. Their success does not have anything with yours. Plenty of good opportunities for us all. If you are so great you wouldn’t judge you would be happy to see everyone succeed.
I don't think it's about having a degree. I think it's more of a personality issue. When I was working at Goldman Sachs years ago, I met a lot of colleagues, managers and executives who had multiple degrees from the Ivy League Universities. They were MBAs, PhDs, JDs, and also were CFAs. But their work culture was highly toxic, with constant back-stabbing games each day, no one could be trusted. I did not enjoy working there, so I left.
Wells Fargo executives and managers are the same way, they have absolutely no moral or ethics. Any place where money is tends to attract these types of people regardless of their educational background.

Tell me more about how you've never gone to a real school. If you got by on memorization of facts alone, you didn't.
People love to talk trash about going to college and roll out their silly and rare exceptions. The data is no debatable. On average more (formally) educated people make more $. Call a degree a scrap of paper all ya want, it's a scrap of paper that brings home the bacon and that's what matters.
Explains why they are such poor critical thinkers, "yes" people & insecure backstabbers.

I would like to add Larry Elision and Steve Jobs to the list. All are billionaire and if you have Meta, Microsoft, Oracle and Apple stocks you don’t have to worry about being laid off. Life is definitely good
One of the most worthless people I ever worked with graduated from Harvard. She was brought in with great fanfare and I have to admit I was a bit intimidated. Harvard! (I was very young).
She may have been good at writing term papers but she could NOT think on her feet. If she was asked a question in a meeting she would blush and stammer out I’ll get back to you. Of course she wouldn’t, and she didn’t last long.
This was at a top tier advertising agency, not WF. They didn’t suffer fools.
I have not been impressed or intimidated by degrees since. I don’t have one and I’ve done just fine.

I’ve seen those commercials from University of Phoenix saying you can get a masters degree in less than a year for $11k. How legit can those be?
I know plenty of id--ts with degrees and plenty of highly intelligent people with no degree. You shouldn’t have a pre-conceived opinion of anyones intelligence based on their higher education level.
My manager did not graduate college. He’s plenty smart and does a great job. I’m not going to dismiss him due to lack of a degree.
Get off your pedestal. Not everyone has the same access to learning opportunities, especially the very expensive cost of college.
Degrees and certs only demonstrate that you know the answers to questions on a test.

Some of the d-mbest people I know have degrees. A piece of paper doesn’t indicate one’s intelligence level.
Sadly the diploma mills preyed on the vulnerable. You're better off leaving them off your resume.

OP - You are an id--t if you measure intelligence with a degree. A degree only indicates a person's ability to learn. You must feel bad about all the money you wasted on your super good degree.
What’s your point? Some of most successful leaders in country don’t have degrees. Most degrees are overrated, especially $ spent on masters
lots of people in all industries with degrees in something other than what they do. in many cases the education is more about learning to think critically. as where one got there degree, it all comes down to how much effort you put into it. Plenty of people coming out of top tier schools who just phones it in im sure. so many companies only look at where one went to school, but I believe most studies have shown that where someone went to school has very correlation on their overall success at work.
I also have worked with plenty of senior people without degrees who are some of the best and brightest I have had the pleasure of working with, they may have had to work harder/longer to get where they are but successful nonetheless.
