If the employee has to reapply for his/her job, technically that would mean employment has ended ended and they should qualify for severance.

... Tower Strategy is still bloated with high paid people barely doing anything.

AVPs and SVPs who are literally up walking the floors like hall monitors every 30 minutes. How much SVPs make?

"Yeah, idk why anyone would be surprised at this point. If you're not in the hub, it's coming for you, very soon."

Oh yeah and don't forget they told you your manager has all the answers, except that they do NOT...they know about 5 mins before you know if even that

Just to let you guys know, being in Dallas or Atlanta does not guarantee, or even imply, your safety. When I got laid off, it was 3 of us from our team, I'm not in any hub fair enough, but another person was in Dallas, and the third in Atlanta.

Me and 2 other co-workers just got FMP'd and we are in Midwest. It's just a matter of time before all who are not in Dallas, Atlanta, MO or California will be getting the boot! Another co-worker said he received noticed that his position is being moved to Atlanta and if he doesn't want to relocate, out he goes. Oh and the kicker is he has to re-apply for his job. WTF. After 35 years, I'm happy to leave this horrible company.

I honestly cannot believe what’s happening to AT&T

Wireless Engineering in Portland is going to be completely gone. There most likely will not even be any kind of option to move to Seattle. Out of house contract engineering and the remaining engineering in Seattle will fill in any gaps for now. Very similar things will be done in Phoenix, Denver and Salt Lake. Don’t be fooled into pulling up roots and moving to Seattle. You’re just going to waste a tremendous amount of money and time and heartache for nothing. AT&T is completely redoing Wireless engineering and the C&E group. I think the PNW is going to be the pilot for this ‘re-imagination’ of Wireless at AT&T.

Op, do you know which organizations? For Seattle area, it has to be an org that doesn't want Seattle as a hub. Portland has very little people other than engineering

Not sure what poster meant by Org Towers but Tower Strategy is still bloated with high paid people barely doing anything. Still a lot of fat but execs unaware. There’s so many jobs that can be outsourced and are just an overlay. Org is a hodgepodge of some tower contracts, roaming, ops, systems…
No one minding the store. Lazy people love it and we in markets have to deal with it bc CS thinks the leaders are great due to cost reductions that really never amount to what they say. We go around them in markets and it’s all a joke.

If you intend to work at AT&T longer than 3 years or want to be promoted you need to move to Dallas or Atlanta.

Everyone knows this by now.

Pacific NW same as NJ, way, way, way overstaffed. It should not have taken this long to cull the herd in these locations. Like throwing cash down a rathole, no ROI!

It's almost like every employee outside of hubs Dallas and Atlanta, are waiting for the grim reaper to pay them a visit. There is no life after at&t, best paying jobs in the whole wide world!
