Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What happened to Tech RTO forthcoming guidelines?

Tali’s email said that additional guidance would be sent, but I’ve seen nothing and my manager hasn’t received anything either. Product teams were apparently going to be forced to go in on specific days so we could all “collaborate” in person (aka via Teams), and for capacity planning purposes. Anyone in leadership have info?

Yeah, I get it… Tech is affected.

I am 100% remote in tech. I’ve heard zero because my manager has heard zero. It’s an upper level executive s*** show. Par for the course these days with the clowns in charge. I hope to be displaced, I’ve had enough of the wondering and overwork garbage. Simple enough.

The “as needed” is a clause to placate those the Sr Leaders in Tech deem are too important to lose and or give the leaders a way to avoid RTO if they are not in a hub.

@ksd+1opqXBnd ... asked and answered... if you haven't gotten anything else, nothing else applies. Move on and find something else to whine about.

@sov+1opqXBnd You can’t force reading comprehension on the employees at wells. They can’t manufacture a narrative that way.

I have zero respect for the Sr Leadership here but this is misplaced outrage. The guidance is as clear as it has been for several months. 3 days a week unless……. The unless comes from your direct leadership.

@gwu+1opqXBnd “RTO……It's an indignity…..”

LOL. Thanks for the laugh Dimwit. Are you this dramatic all the time? Imagine being required to actually physically GO to a work site to be an indignity. FFS. Some of you can really find anything Beach about can’t you? Now queue the “oh you want me to work from home? I’ll need a stipend for internet service, home office supplies, web cam, phone line and silver spoon to shove up my backside.”

I'm not in tech, which is why I'm asking: Are all tech staff finally being made to RTO 3 days per week? Or are lots of exceptions being made?

Like most things WF, people only read the words they want. The actual sentence:

As needed, specific work week assignment details will be shared by your managers in the coming weeks.”

If you didn’t get any message that would mean you don’t have specific work assignment details.

I know where the existing workplace guidance is. My post specifically called out the email Tech received from TB, which stated additional guidance would be sent “in the coming weeks.” Specific info on what days we are required to be in the office. It’s not on that site and nothing else was received, hence my post. But thanks…

Maybe TBs chain of command isn't so stable anymore.

I'm not nervous or uncertain, so I guess they've been fine for 200 years. Cool, good for them.

OP - everything you need to know about in office attendance is in teamworks in the "our workplace" section. it's pretty detailed and explicit.

Agreed, this place was a destination for only the best of the best quality employees. We were the pinnacle of banking and what every other firm strives to achieve, and look at us now. The last few years have just destroyed this place.

This is what happens when people are put in charge based on their skin color and se-ual preference

You act as if it’s so diverse and now wht men are in the minority. Do you know how many meetings I attend with 10 wht male leaders and I’m the only different person on the call. I think y’all are still doing ok.

If you’re feeling nervous and uncertain, now you know how women, POC, LGBTQ, etc have felt for the last 200+ years.

You’re fine.

It's simple. RTO not making sense means it drives attrition. It's an indignity that some refuse to suffer, especially when there is obviously no benefit. The execs just want you to quit, and if making you go to an office for no reason does that, then it's a "good idea" in their minds. There's also minor fringe political and tax benefits involved, but those aren't the reason for RTO. Crushing morale and domestic head count us the objective.

"Collaborate in person via Teams"...that's an oxymoron. I still do not see the point of going into an office to "collaborate" with your teammates when the team is geographically dispersed across the country (or countries) and we have the exact same ability when working from home. Please help it make sense.
